1911 question

ok, so I am looking to buy a starter 1911, this will be my first 1911, and I plan to do a lot of work to it, I also am planning to not spend much money to start. That being said, I have priced a couple cheap 1911s at a local gun shop and want to know which one sucks the least. ARMSCOR 1911A1 .45 ACP...

Re: Left eye dominant rifle???

give it a shot, I worried about the same thing, but in 4years of shooting one, I don't think more than a handful came at my face.

Re: Left eye dominant rifle???

Well, if you're left eye dominant, you need to shoot left handed, that's what I was saying about the ambidextrous stuff. They don't tilt the scopes so you can just hold it on the other side.

I'd try to be there, but yeah, I have no idea what city you're talking about even. If someone could mapquest or googlemaps it to me that would be great.

Re: Headlamp Recommendation

Although I never went to Iraq/Afghanistan, I do know that any and all care packages are appreciated, if you're going to send the guy something, let me know and I will pitch in to get him something good (assuming you guys have paypal), no sense spending shipping on something we get at WalMart.

Re: Good starting rifle setup recommendations.....

Well, it seems like you have chosen a rifle, but a caliber I would recommend is the 7mm WSM. I bought one last fall and it kicks a little less than a .308 and delivers more energy, as well as shooting flatter at longer distances. Here is a chart of ballistics that shows velocity, energy, etc. http&#...

Re: Left eye dominant rifle???

I shoot left-handed, and while in the army had to use a right-handed m16. It's not a challenge since most of the controls are ambi, and it has a casing deflector that works pretty well. If you can find the same rifle for cheaper, get it, the experience is really no different. If you want to get one ...

Re: RG 38 special ?

Not sure about this model in particular, but this is what I found, and it's not really good.

Re: What about the Glock?

I use a g19 for daily carry, while I started out with a S&W 5906, I prefer the glock. For a couple of reasons. The glock is lighter, it's easier to take down and clean, it has an accessory rail, and since I shoot left-handed, it's also easier to find holsters for a glock in left hand. Neither ha...

Re: Grousing about...

I've been very interested in learning about grouse hunting, I've got a great pheasant dog, a brittany, and a great 20 gauge SxS. Anyone open to showing a guy what grouse hunting is all about. I can trade reloading or 1911 cleaning skills for a little grouse hunting expertise. depending on where you...

Revolver question

So, I'm skipping the "new guy here" post and going right to the questions. I have always liked the looks of the revolvers that "break" in the middle and was wondering if anyone knew some of the brands/models that made these? I have asked around Bemidji and have been told that the...
