Re: Thanks for the info...

Welcome from West central MN, Robb. If you are interested in reloading I'd urge you to take oldman up on his generous offer. While a good reloading manual is mandatory, a good reloading mentor is worth a dozen manuals. Feel free to post up any questions, the helpful ones will help where they can.

Re: Hello from AV

Where exactly are you from? There are Steel Shoots, but most of them require a caliber of 9mmor larger. The was the Ruger rimfire match last year at Gopher Campfire, which I think you were at, if I remember correctly. Not sure if Tim is gonna run another one this year or not. But you are correct......

Re: Used market for 10/22?

This thread reminds me that I need to find another 10/22 receiver. I have all the other parts to assemble #4.

Re: 22lr lever guns

Love my 39M. Was my very first real gun. Got it as a Christmas present when I was about 7. It's still in immaculate condition and one of my most cherished material possessions.

Re: Amend2 Mags...anyone have / used them, opinion ?

I can get them for $8 each new + ship. And the only PMAG I would buy is a M3 which are at least $14 per, more for windowed. The only gen 3 Pmags I have are the 40 rounders, but I have a bunch of Gen 2 30 rounders that have been used and abused at 3gun matches all over the country without fail. Plea...

Re: Amend2 Mags...anyone have / used them, opinion ?

$15 for those when you can buy P-mags for $9-10. I'll stick with the proven reliability of the P-mag for less money all day long.

After having one attempt to move in with me, I'd say that's not always the case. Death to all land-based non-legged vertebrates :gun:

Re: flame thrower?

Other than as a yard tool as depicted in the first photo, I am struggling to see a use for a Flame Thrower - I guess maybe - Just because you can - is all the reason you need. Does anyone know someone who owns one of these? Because this place is real and on the same planet as I am should be all the...

Re: Varmint/predator rifle hand guard

Nordic Components NC-1 13.25 ounce. DPMS rifle length free float tube 13.8 ounce. YHM lightweight quad rail 14.75 ounce. Certainly not enough difference to worry about. And that adapter you posted adds how much weight? Are all your shots coming from the bipod? If your answer is yes, then I suspect ...

patrick wrote:One word.Bipod.

You planing on putting a bipod on the sides and top of your handguard as well? Also to mount a Harris type bipod on a quadrail requires an a adapter that actually makes a Harris type bipod work kinda crappy since it cant lay flat against the tube.

Re: Lee Handpress Question

I'm probably about to offer my best advise for the week on this forum right now. #1. Don't buy the Lee hand press as your first forte into handloading #2. Ignore Seismic Sam's posts #3. Send OldmanFCSA a PM at your earliest convenience about getting some on the job training. He is fully set up with ...

Re: Varmint/predator rifle hand guard

If this is for a varmint-predator rifle, I regret to tell you that you are most likely going to hate the full quad rail. They feel like a cheese grater in the hands, are heavy and don't ride in a front rest for damn. Your best affordable option would have been the handguard from Nordic Components.

Re: Shotgun shell catchers?

Good on you for getting involved. I'm also a volunteer coach for our high school trap team. To me this is huge. The fact that a shooting sport has become a mainstream school activity, that a participant can letter in, actually shows some hope for the future generation.
