Re: Brass and lead poisoning

Lead dust is the easiest way to get elevated lead levels in your blood stream. You inhale it, and don't realize it. Ever blow your nose after sorting brass, or shooting and it comes out gray/black? well thats partially lead dust. The worst part about casting is the dust or handling the lead, then no...

Re: Remintgon 11

Try Boyds gunstocks dot com for the wood. Not feeding from magazine: the Browning A-5's had a magazine cut off lever on the non-ejection port side of the gun, can't remember if the Remington's did or not? As for choke tubes, I think you answered your own question. Since there is no collector value, ...

Re: 6 Long Guns - What do I have?

Picture are not the best way to evaluate, so this is "best guess" and should get you fairly close. ie. there could be something that changes the value, but can't be seen in a photo. Prices are approx. Retail #1. Stevens Marksman, 1917-1933 a inexpensive .22 sold in hardware stores.if the b...

Re: Get the Lead Out!

There is a real - real simple solution Shoot a mag/cylinder full of FMJ's - that takes care of 99.9% of the leading problems. Giving both plain base and gas checked a try. Keeping the PB around 1600-1700 fps.

Re: Get the Lead Out!

"You're shooting cast lead in your .30-06? If so i'd think it's a completely different animal than my lswc for my .45. After several hundred rounds (5-600) in a range trip, I get a bit of leading. not terrible, but it needs to go." Yep, 165-214gr lead bullets in the 03-A3. They load cheape...

Re: Get the Lead Out!

If the bullets are sized correctly for the bore diameter you should get minimal leading. I have 80 rounds through my 30-06, and no sign of leading, just a little powder fouling.

Re: Has any found large rifle primers?

I find the 300 limit sad. They were forced to switch from a 1000 each limit to the 300 limit because a steady stream of "primer pigs" would stop in each day and buy the max then resell them at triple the price.

Re: WI: Appeals Court closes gun club

I'd say, if they can confirm that rounds left the range and impacted somewhere else, it doesn't really matter who was there first.

Re: 1911 Help - Slide Locking

Ok, chest deflating. Seems like both of us don't like getting jumped, here, or on the street. And for those that don't like Wilson, fine. Jerry Kuhnhausen, recommends the same technique in his book "The Colt .45 Automatic, A Shop Manual. Oops, guess my chest just puffed up a little again.
