Re: Rifle destroyed. Shooter safe.

I wouldn't doubt one can fit a 7mm/08 cartridge into a 25/06 chamber. Saw a guy fire a 7x57 (which is longer than a 7mm/08) in a 270 once and he would have pulled the trigger again if I wouldn't have stopped him after seeing gas escape from the action. The case looked a little strange too as there ...

Re: Rifle destroyed. Shooter safe.

How could you mistake a short cartridge 7mm-08 for a long cartridge 7mm-08?

Maybe single loading and had one sitting on the bench. If you are loading multiple into a magazine I would think you would notice.

Re: Dumb question: silicon in receiver holes as 'filler' ?

Why not just use set screws that are normally used as fillers? With the silicon, if you ever do need to use those holes, you will have fun cleaning out the filler material.

But he hit the nail on the head. "What is his question?"

Seemed like a simple “yes” or “no” question to me... :?

Then I will answer the original question.

No.

Re: Howa Mini Action rifles

My Weatherby Vanguard in .30-06 is made by Howa. Great shooting rifle.

We have a bunch of Howas on the rack at the store I work at. Seems like a very good rifle for the money. Sub MOA guarantee like many of the rifles produced nowadays.

Re: I'm back (total nube, I know) Die problem?

Why are you using Ballistol for a lube? You need a better lube. I use the Lee stuff. a dab on the finer "rolled" the length of the case and every so often a bit inside the case neck. The one shot lubes you have to be careful. You need are supposed to let them dry before sizing. The Lee stu...

Re: I want to borrow a 308 for a few shots

Yep, Hornady Custom Lite in .243 is what my son uses. Handloading the .270 or .308 for some lighter loads might help as well. https://www.remington.com/ammunition/centerfire-rifle/managed-recoil https://www.hornady.com/ammunition/custom-lite#!/ https://hsmammunition.c...

Re: Primers, Powder, and 9mm

For about 30 minutes yesterday I had in my grubby hands a BYOB of Federal .22 LR. Until a customer said the only thing he was looking for was some .22 LR. I was at the new Scheels on Saturday. They had some .45 Hydrashock deep. First time I have seen them in a store. At the price they had they must ...

Re: Remote trigger build

I would probably add some padding or plastidip so you do not mar a customer's firearm. Very cool. Just got done posting in a forum where some "long range" shooters were saying that their range bags were as good as sand bags and the like for shooting from a bench. Trying to explain that the...

Re: Army teaching poor rifle grip?

Unless someone is using the wrong side of their phone, it's a right shoulder patch, which means prior service unit. He may have been a Marine, and is Army now. Not just prior service. It denotes having been in combat with a certain unit. I was in the 103rd COSCOM. We transitioned to the 88th ARCOM....

Re: MN Valley Wildlife Refuge hunting

Google? Id sooner eat my hand  Then you can continue to shout your question to the wind and see how soon it gets answered. Within a few minutes I had your question answered. I guess you would prefer to have others do the work for you. You are on an internet forum asking a question that can be...
