Re: ***** factory ammo for .30-06?

I think you miss the point. Can you shoot a .30-06? Would you rather shoot a 6.5 mm? Maybe, but you probably could shoot a .30-06 if it was that or nothing. I was thinking that there are alternative ways of dealing with the recoil than automatically assuming that "I can't shoot this thing...&qu...

Re: First rifle cartridge reload attempt = pierced primers

How many rounds did you fire in each weight?

I've seen some pretty large swings that are due to insufficient sample size as far as the velocity issues.

More important is how did they group?

Re: 629 vs Super Redhawk vs ???

My experience is that while the ruger revolvers are more "clunky" and not as smooth as a S&W, they are able to take more abuse than a Smith. I've shot a smith and a colt loose, I've not managed that with a Ruger. They certainly lack the "Panache" of a S&W, but are really ...

Re: ***** factory ammo for .30-06?

Obviously you didn't read it.

Most of the problem is not him, it's gun fit and how he shoots it.

If he can hunt with a slug shotgun, he can handle a .30-06.

Look up the recoil energy. The slug gun has more recoil energy.

Re: Doctors *can* ask if you have guns in the house

I am a FP physician. It is tabulated and they see the progress note so they can verify if you completed the required elements for that level of billing. Whether the particular provider actually tabulates what questions they ask or just document that "safety screening performed" is an indiv...

Re: Doctors *can* ask if you have guns in the house

I had originally written a rather tongue in cheek reply to this topic. It was one of my big arguments with the AMA and caused me to stop being a member. I would be worried about what the info is used for. HIPAA is not about protecting your information, its about who is allowed to see it. In particul...

Re: Kept it Real today!!!

If you are "keeping it real" then admit that those were emptying the mag and that was all that hit the paper with an AK....

Re: How much does 500 cases weigh 9mm & .40 SGW

I assume empty brass only

Just under 5 pounds for 40
just under 4 1/2 pounds for 9 mm

Easy is to get the one rate postal box and throw them in there to ship. (weight is immaterial if you get it in the box...)

Re: ***** factory ammo for .30-06?

30-06 is just a lot of gun. People mistake it for being benign. It isn't. Too much for most people to shoot. Huh? .30-06? Are you kidding me? I know under 100# women who shoot .375 H&H regularly. In any case, I doubt the problem is the cartridge. Recoil's intolerabilty is the summation of sever...

Re: Is there any clubs up by Duluth that are doing USPSA?

Northwest gun club has a really nice range. Considerable distance for rifle, bays for pistol. I think they even have some heated firing points for use in the winter, although I've never been there in the cold. They have lakefront property where the clubhouse is. All in all a really nice place. Unfor...

Re: Driving with full magazine

For air travel, loaded magazines are a no-no. That's not what this guy says: http://www.gunreports.com/special_reports/handguns/batfe-Rules-Under-Gun-Control-Act837-1.html Firearm magazines/clips do not satisfy the packaging requirement unless they provide a complete and secure enclosure of the amm...

Re: Firearms and InFlation

Depends on what you are talking about. Collector grade guns will continue to appreciate. Class III will continue to appreciate. Guns that get banned by the government from further import/manufacture will appreciate. Most hunting guns and plinkers will depreciate, some drastically as the middle class...
