Re: Russians at Iran’s Bushehr nuclear reactor suddenly depart

Maybe the Russkies don't like the cold Iranian winters? One Russian I knew, told me that Russians weren't really happy unless they were miserable. :?: Generally though, I thought they loved cold winters! Maybe it was the anticipated heat wave they didn't want to deal with.

Re: Page Count Problems

Do you have a particular topic as an example? Nevermind, I figured it out. In "Board Preferences - Edit Display Properties", there is a setting called "Display posts from previous days;" If you set a time in there, not only will it not display older posts, it won't even let you ...

Page Count Problems

On occasion, I see topics on the Board Index list, that show several pages of posts. When I click to the topic, it shows only 1 page of 1, and I am unable to access previous pages. I've tried clearing cache, cookies, etc. and the problem persists. Am I missing something or doing something wrong??? A...

Re: Gunsmith in the W/NW Suburbs

Otherwise, although it's outside your area, everyone I've ever talked to about gunsmiths in the Metro can't say enough good things about the guy at Joe's Sporting Goods off of Rice and between 36 and 694 in Shoreview. FYI, Joe's Sporting Goods is on the south side of Hwy 36, in Little Canada... fro...

Re: Open Sights Question

Time for my daily dumb question: Why do big game guns always come with open sights? Is a .45-70 Govt or a .458 Lott bullet so destructive that pinpoint accuracy just isn't all that important? Or are you so close to that charging elephant that a scope is unnecessary? My understanding is that: ° Iron...

Re: Red Dot on a 30-30?

I put one of these (a JPoint dot sight) on my 10/22. I also bought a mount for my Freedom Arms revolver (even though I haven't mounted it). It weights nothing, and it could be mounted so that regular sights would be visible right through it, if the batteries went dead.

DVDs - Disney, Pixar, Studio Ghibli

I've been cleaning out extra/duplicate DVDs in our collection. The following are new, still in the shrink wrap. First come, first serve. The prices shown have been somewhat arbitrarily set at about $4 under amazon.com prices. If you buy more than one (or all) I could be talked down some. ;) I'd pref...

Re: State Fair Bull Escape

Unrelated, but some farm kids might understand. When we were kids, we use to play chicken tag with the chickens that were in transit beween the chopping block and the butcher table, if you know what I mean. :| Butchering chickens, now that brings back memories. Turkeys were more trouble though, the...

Re: This is so reassuring...

Sitting around waiting for the shooter CAN'T be a good plan. I think that's too general a statement to make with any certainty. It depends on the circumstances. If a classroom is reasonably hardened, with a lockable door, staying put may be better than breaking cover. If the classroom has the secur...

Re: This is so reassuring...

I'm with you there Srigs . Every step the kids take away from the school, the less likely they'll be hit by a bullet. Aaaahhhhhh. Wasn't the original MO of Klebold and Harris, at Columbine, to set off bombs in the school and ambush people on the way out? Out the door and into an ambush may not be t...
