Re: Where to get a decent quality .223 upper for prairie dogs

Twist rate is going to depend on what Bullets you want to run. I think a 1:10 covers what most guys would want to use. Length depends on how much velocity and weight you want. I tend to go shorter as I keep the shots close. Dtech is my uncle so obviously I run his stuff. Accuracy is very good. I don...

Re: New to the AR, newish to rifles in general, where to shoot?

Depends on how much you want to spend. For a budget range it is hard to beat Gopher Campfire in Hutchinson they go to 100yd. Rainbow Sportsman's in Cokato goes to 300yd but is not as well laid out. Beaverbrook in East Bethel is expanding to 200 but is more money than either of these. If you want som...

Re: Rem 700 gurus or local gunsmith?

I would just take it to Ahlmans. They have done work for me a few times and I have always been pleased. I am actually on the phone with Remington now for another batch of warranty work. I am almost 100% positive these will go down to Ahlmans. They did the last batch of Remington warranty work. They ...

Re: Ruger Mark III 22/45 Suppressed

I would buy a new can. Spend some money and get a good one though. You are going through a lot of trouble to run ammo that is impossible to find. Get a good rimfire can that will run quiet with any subsonic ammo. It seems lame you have to run ammo that was designed to be hearing safe without a suppr...

Re: Reloading .45 ACP

Go with 231, you'll never regret it. That's all I used in 9mm and 45. Depending on the gun it may not cycle SWC. I had to run round nose or truncated cone as I recall. If you have limited money go with the round nose 230. It will run in any 45acp.

Re: Reloading .45 ACP

On a single stage you can use either with the same result. Using a 3 die back the seat/crimp die out so there is no crimp, adjust seat depth and seat all bullets, then back seating stem out so it does not contact the bullet and adjust die for proper crimp, crimp all bullets. It really wouldn't be an...

Re: Ruger Mark III 22/45 Suppressed

I looked up that can. It looks like you have to run it wet to get good numbers. Get some wire pulling gel and give it a shot. Or just use water. The wet numbers are around what others are dry but it is half the cost of other cans. I'd try it wet and see how it sounds. It's just a pain keeping a can ...

Re: Ruger Mark III 22/45 Suppressed

I have never tried that brand of rimfire can. I have Dead Air, Liberty, two different Tactical Solutions, two different Silencerco, and two of the same Spikes(just in never shot). All of the ones I have ran on my threaded MIII's are absolutely stupid quiet with regular subsonic ammo. I think the amm...

Re: Onamia Gravel Pit Range

You point is noted and well taken, but as far as what the Las Vegas oddsmakers would say, it's 90% likely that somebody making initial comments about being "forced" to join a range and/or "not getting the hairy eyeball from an RO" is a douchnozzle and NOT responsible shooter. So...

Re:

Any state forest is legal. Chengwatana is a popular spot. Sent from my HTC One_M8 using Tapatalk This was the case. The state is closing down parts of state forest land to non hunting shooting related activity. The only spot I know of is by the Red Wing dam. People shoot on the river bottoms but wo...
