Re: Al Frickin on WCCO this morn.............

Under the proposed bill, existing magazines would be grandfathered but it would be illegal to sell them or give them away after the effective date. The way I read the bill, it would ban any firearm with an internal magazine of more than ten rounds, except for tubular magazine .22s. http://carol...

I once stabbed 3/4" into the end of my little finger, reaching into a pocket with a balisong that had come unlatched.

Re: Police: 4-year-old girl accidentally killed by sibling

Each one of those adults (espically in the case of these kids being so young) needs to be within arms reach of each one of these kids ESPECIALLY when the line is hot. This does two things. It provides a "buddy system" of sorts, so none of the children are hiding behind bushes and the like...

Re: Police: 4-year-old girl accidentally killed by sibling

My thoughts and prayers go out to the little girls and the rest of the family. Every accidental death has a blame-game behind it. I'd rather not play. Most of the people I know have at least a moment or two that they'd like to take back and do over. I'm not trying to blame the girl, or the family. ...

Re: Did Anyone View "Remington Under Fire"?

There is no conceivable trigger design that won't malfunction given sufficient damage and/or neglect. This is why you: 1. Never depend upon mechanical safeties, and 2. Always keep your firearm pointed in a safe direction. The mother who "accidentally" shot her son was unloading her gun wit...

Re: Chief’s arsenal found in backyard fort

Lucky kids, all we had were BB guns, bottle rockets and rocks to defend our forts. According to my grandmother, my uncles used to play with a VZ-24 - a Czech Mauser - when they were kids. Which I supposed was safe enough. I'm pretty sure they'd have a pretty hard time finding 7.92mm ammo, in those ...

Re: Work Sharp Knife and Tool Sharpener

I have found that tools last longer and work better with the work edge a sub 10 micro inch finish and the geometries properly held. Depends upon the work. Push cuts are easiest with a polished blade. Slicing cuts work better with some serration. The micro-serrations left by a course stone (or even ...

Re: Work Sharp Knife and Tool Sharpener

Stradie, those are nice for tools, but I can hand sharpen a much finer edge.... I highly doubt it. When I'm done with the Tormek, I take a swipe or two on a nice flat 12,000 grit Japanese stone and it brings the edge to a mirror polish, and sharper than any srugical tool you would want to get ahold...

Re: Work Sharp Knife and Tool Sharpener

There's no way I'd spend any money on a tool that could only sharpen knives. I like a sharp knife, but if it isn't exactly perfect, it's not that big a deal. OTOH, having my chisels exactly perfect is a big deal. And I've actually considered buying one of their Work Sharp 3000 Wood Tool Sharpeners. ...

Re: response from manufacturer on accuracy of Dillon D-Terminato

If you're loading .25 ACP, the difference between 1.4 grains and 1.5 grains could matter a lot. In a .50 BMG, the difference between 185.5 and 185.6 grains isn't likely to matter at all. Somebody clue jedge in on the caliber of guns I DO shoot!! If you're loading cases with more that 100 grains, yo...
