Re: great Lasermax repair job

It is supposed to pulse. The idea is that it is easier to pick up down range.

Sonicare toothbrush for gun cleaning?

Has anyone used one for cleaning a firearm?

Wondering if there would be any distinct benefit or harm caused by using one.

Let me know your thoughts.

ASP batons

My cousin is looking for a non-lethal weapon to carry in addition to his usual carry. The ASP Baton caught his eye and He and I are wondering if anyone has any experience with them and what to look for when purchasing. Also, where is the best place to find one. Your knowledge and opinions are welcome.

Re: 2009 Deer Season Results -

The healthy Timber Wolf population can be confirmed. a large pack has located in our area West of Cook. On Saturday, they spent much of the night howling not more than a half mile from our camp - sort of cool, but definitely clearing any deer out of the area. one sighting of Bobcat tracks but no lar...

Re: 2009 Deer Season Results -

We ended up with 2 deer, not by my hand however. 7 hunters including 2 father/son teams. Good size animals - very tasty as well. We had a couple of Timber Wolf (not the basketball dribbling type) sightings in the area, so we think there is a definite correlation to the lack of deer being seen. There...

Re: What firearm are you using for deer opener?

Party did OK with 2 Doe down. Confirmed Timber Wolf sighting in our area and rumor of a DNR Cougar Release in the area within the last 3 months. I thought I caught a glimpse of two wolves, but the only cougars I saw were at the Viking Bar on Sunday night - mangy and past their hunting years, but cou...

Re: Bad reloads

I hope I'm not hijacking the thread here, but this is related. A buddy of mine - known for his thriftiness - used to reload his own shotgun ammo. He gave me a couple of boxes and they were terrible loads. Crimps were loose enough to shake shot out of the end, casing were in bad shape, he had imprope...

Re: Browning Maxus vs. Baretta Extrema 2

I agree, and I may just look at a Super Black Eagle as it is an Inertia operator instead of Gas. I'm sure the Gas system helps with felt recoil, but I am a bit wary of Gas Operated guns. I have a vintage Browning Light Twelve (Belgian) that is gas operated and I was told that it was finicky on how c...

Browning Maxus vs. Baretta Extrema 2

I am considering a new auto loader for bird hunting (duck, pheasant, grouse etc.). Does anyone have any experience handling either of these Shotguns? Both seem to have their champions, but I'd rather solicit opinions from people who aren't paid to promote either. I know they are both fairly new, but...

Re: Firearm appraisal

Thanks for the input one and all. I have gone the Gunbroker route but have had difficulty finding an exact match. The firearm in question is the Mauser 1896 that I just picked up. The research I've done has left me wondering exactly what I havel The shear numbers of variations makes it difficult to ...

Firearm appraisal

Do you have any suggestions on a place to have firearms appraised. I assume Cabela's will do it, not sure, but assume they would, anyone else you could guide me to.

Re: Mauser Model 1896 "BroomHandle"

OK, the transaction is complete and I'm in possession of the Model 1896. What is my best route to getting a valuation?

Is there an appraiser that you would recommend or is there a resource that I could consult to figure out what I have?
