Re: Rebuilding a Rock island 1911?

I second the Norinco. The RI's are not mill spec on some parts. I know, I use to own a RI.

Re: grease vs. oil

I only use STP as a lube on most sliding or rotating parts. I apply it with my finger and remove almost all of it with my bare hand. But it leaves a vary fine film on the surface that does not get to stiff when cold. The only part I do not use it on is the firing pin. I have yet to have my 1911 or m...

Re: Lee Turret press?

MaryB wrote:Are you using the Lee charge bar or is there an aftermarket option that works better? Going to setup each turret with a powder dispenser so I don't have to make major adjustments

I use the Lee adj. charge bar. I also set up each turret with its own powder dispenser.

Re: Lee Turret press?

Yep I would buy everything that you have on the list. You should be set if you add scale to the list if you do not have one. I use the safety prime that mounts to the press and like it. I do need one of them swivels for the powder measurers though sometimes.

Yes it is faster than a single stage.

Re: Lee Turret press?

My cheapo cast aluminum Lee turret press has more that paid for it's self over and over. I load .45 auto and 9mm on it. I also chucked the powder disks and installed an adjustable powder bar. I can dial in any weight I want to throw.

Re: Respectfully, I do not want 'Constitutional Carry' in MN :)

I say we go for suppressors. They are legal in every state around us. I know how long it can take to get things past also. I was one of the guys that pushed for use of lights for predator hunting here in MN. It took 3 years if I remember correctly.

Who has 300 Blockout ammo instock

I have a friend looking for some 300 Blackout rounds. Do any of you know if any of the shops in the Twin Cities or surrounding area has some in stock?

Re: How to get clay birds at OGC

We ended up bringing are own. I was told NOT to use bio degradable birds. They will make the lead leach into the ground faster.

Re: Rem. bucket-o-bullets at Gander

Same thing at Dick's with the ones they had as door busters. My brother got there 5min after they opened on Friday and they were out. Asked if they had anymore and was told they will have some out on Saturday when the store opens. The SOB's are rationing them. Just another place we no longer shop. ...

How to get clay birds at OGC

I was told we can only use the birds that the club sells. So how does a guy buy some today? My kids just asked me to take them shooting.

Re: Rem. bucket-o-bullets at Gander

The funny part is GM had 325 packs of federal on Thursday for 15.99 (basically the same price) and noone was the store. I picked up 10 boxes and could have gone back in for another 10. They had stackes of them in Rogers. Ya exactly on Thursday. That was Thanksgiving, who the heck shops on or makes ...
