I only have a couple of years of experience with 1911s myself.

Seen a lot of ultra-compact .45s in classes - Kimber, Sprinfield, Para included. They all run like crap. The good news is, by the end of the day, students who bring them get really good at clearing malfunctions. Anything smaller than a Commander size seems to be asking for trouble. Thanks for shari...

Between those two, I would get a Rock Island Armory (RIA)...

Edit: RIA are inexpensive guns that work, which is what you seem to be looking for. Plus great reputation for customer service and warranty work.

Have a couple of Tucker belts and like those. Actually have one in 43 Inches I would be willing to sell because it is too large for me (apparently measuring is not one of my skills )
