Re: Where's the powder?

Finding Bullseye, TiteGroup, HP38, AutoComp, HS6, Lil Gun, Varget, Power Pistol on the shelf. I buy a lot for my fellow reloaders, and often have excess for sale. Let my know what your needs are and I may be able to help. I have a slush fund that I use to buy/sell powders. I can meet in metro short ...

Re: Tumbler

I find that the decap pin removes stuck media from flash hole on tumbled brass. Dust problem is reduced with softner sheet, Turtle wax brand "Scratcch and Swirl Remover" with a big splash of mineral spirits. Media, on ocassion will need to sit in a cardboard box to dry out to prevent milde...

Re: Where's the powder?

Something Odd about powder availability in TC area. When I travel, I always, repeat, ALWAYS see more than I want. True, not every option is out there, but I think "SUBSITUTE". Seen lately - Varget, 4350, CFE, HP38, Titegroup, WST, 700x, 800x, PB, H110, HS6, most of the new IMRs, Ram shot, ...

Re: Bulk Pistol Bullets

Before you load mass quantities of Berrys HBRN, Please be sure to test fire a small batch, with the best crimp and powder choice and OAL. you the accuracy, recoil, feeding and ejection behavior needed! Berrys, if not custom loaded to your specific gun may not give you a tight group. This is on reaso...

Re: 38/357 roll, taper, or lee factory crimp?

I shoot thousands of 38! special in a semi-auto. 38 brass does not grow in length, trimming is usually unnecessary. My seating die Orients the bullet to precise depth and initiates a gentle roll crimp. The final roll crimp is established by the FCD. As I am only using 2.45 grains of bull's-eye, a go...

Re: Glock 20 in 10 mm auto.

I have a G 20. You can borrow it and try to wear it out. It is a fine little pistol. The recoil is a little punishing compared to the other popguns out there. I shoot at B P R five times a week. I never saw the need to purchase factory ammo. Brass is relatively cheap and bullet selection is satisfac...

Re: 454 Casull shot loads for 410 Contender

My Comteder has a 3" chamber. 454 is basically a magnum 45 Long Colt. The barrel has a choke that cancels the rifling's spin. 444 Marlin fire forms to 410. I just don't find it at the ranges here like I did in MI. I find 454 case fairly often. I want to take advantage of recycling the cases int...

Re: Colt Huntsman vs. Ruger Mark III

The previous comments all on target. The huntsman has rudimentary sights. The Mark can be had with target sights. You Usually look at buying more mags for a semi auto (assuming you have " some rare 22 LR Ammo"). Magazines are about the same money. The Ruger trigger will need upgrading if y...

Re: Glock G20 Gen4

Gen 2 G20 owner here. Grips are clubby. Factory recoil spring had to beefed up to digest 175 HLTC WITH 10.0 grains 800-X. Mimics rather high energy muzzle blast with two illuminated fire rings 8 and 16" out. Gas velocity must be supersonic. Recoil not for the limp wristed. 6% of the Underwood b...

Re: What's BPR like on a Friday evening?

Usually open lanes there during warm weather. No A/C in gallery. I go 4-5 a week on my Mega Shooter pass.

Re: Broke my RCBS .223 decaping die

I was told by a fellow shooter that the RCBS decapping rod bearing the sizing button atvthe distal end, actually distorts the neck and destroys accuracy. I tend to agree, as the case is not firmly up inside the die as the decapping pin is so short . He mentioned COAX type dies , butvi think he meant...
