Re: Is the panic over?

Got the last 3 boxes of Fiocci 9mm for $17/each as well as some .45acp for $25/each at Gander in EP today. They told me they now have a new 5 box limit for most handgun rounds and 100rd limit on .22. Was actually able to get 100rd box of mini-mags for $8 and they had quite a few left in the box when...

Re: Ideas for current model fullsize .45 in "traditional" SA/DA

I do like me some CZs, it is on the list. The fact that CJW has a very reasonable tuning package is a big bonus. Now I have a lot more time to think about it and hopefully the opportunity to shoot some of those on the list. However, Picked this SAR K2 in 9MM up last night for just under $300 for my ...

Re: Ideas for current model fullsize .45 in "traditional" SA/DA

.45 is on hold for now. After the last trip to the range together, my wife decided she wants her "own" semi-auto in a caliber closer to the .38s she was shooting than the .45. I am happy to oblige, despite the need to now buy ammo in one more caliber.

Re: Large Bore Rifle Recommendations

If you are into the oddball, how about .358 Winchester? I LOVE my heirloom Model 88, and it was my Grandpa's favorite for everything from deer, to elk, to boar, and he even got a moose once.

I think I'll have to remind

Re: Ideas for current model fullsize .45 in "traditional" SA/DA

The P220 is a good one.And it has the Sig "To hell and back" reliability.I myself can't hit the broad side of a barn from the inside with the traditional Sig trigger set up.That is why all my Sigs went bye bye.I've never had the opportunity to try the Sig DAK trigger. That might be better ...

Re: Ideas for current model fullsize .45 in "traditional" SA/DA

Gun Stop has a EAA witness you might like. Finally got a chance to stop be there, but the only Witness I saw was a compact 40. Nice place, I had never been in there before. I had heard they just did reloading supplies and accessories which is apparently totally wrong. Their used selection was price...

Re: Ideas for current model fullsize .45 in "traditional" SA/DA

I have read some nice things about the EAA Sarsilmaz SAR K2, but have not actually seen one. 14+1 CZ clone, in use by turkish army, supposedly very similar to the witness, but somewhat nicer fit/trigger, and available <$550 online. Anybody seen/shot one of these in person or know any place in the...

Re: Ideas for current model fullsize .45 in "traditional" SA/DA

If you've shot a HK 45 and it fits your geometry, the price becomes less of an issue. They run everything you feed them, and they don't care when you clean them (my carry gun needs lint removal cleaning, so this is a very valid concern). It's like the crown jewel of tupperware. Spartan was telling ...

Re: Ideas for current model fullsize .45 in "traditional" SA/DA

Went to a couple LGS and looked at an FNX and an HK, both of which seemed very nice but for the price, they just didn't really do it for me. I looked at a Sig P220 but it did not feel good in my hand. Didn't see any Taurus, or Ruger DA 45s. Gonna stop at another tonight where they should have a Witn...

FNG in Hopkins/Minnetonka here

Howdy all, another new guy here on the west side of the metro by way of Colorado originally. I have never been more than a casual recreational shooter and I also had to leave my guns behind in CO when I moved here 10 years ago so I have been out of the sport for a while. I recently was able to get m...

Ideas for current model fullsize .45 in "traditional" SA/DA

I'm mostly a S&W guy, I have a 4516 (3.5" .45 stainless) and I would like a full size companion .45 but I am not completely enamored with the 8-round capacity of the little guy's big brothers so I am considering other full size options but having a hard time finding much in what I was alway...

Re: 22lr ammo shortage

I threw up a little in my mouth when I did it, but I finally got sick of finding next to nothing and I ordered 500 rounds of match for .30/rnd just to take my wife shooting so she can enjoy her first time at the range.
