Re: FTF on 458 Socom AR

Yes, flat profile bullets can cause problems with feeding. Are these factory rounds or handloads? Factory rifle or home build? Factory magazines for the cartridge? If handloads, changing COAL would be my first step. Factory rounds. Factory built upper on a couple different lowers Factory .458 Socom...

FTF on 458 Socom AR

My brother just put together an AR in 458 Socom but it's having problems feeding flat nosed bullets from the magazine. It strips the round out of the mag but it gets jammed at like a 30 degree angle and won't go in the chamber. It's like the feed ramp needs to be longer maybe...? Slowly letting the ...

Re: Dry fire laser training systems

I'm seriously considering the same setup as this guy has for the house. I've never used a laser system but this one looks very cool! Keep us posted on what you end up with. Scratch, you do know that you are the Batman of this board.......cause that is a really great system. Pretty much everything I...

Re: Okay, someone please guide me through the SBR rules again...

I saw something on IG I think yesterday, but I can't find it now. It was a numbered list of what might happen with this but I can't remember the exact wording and I want to see it again. If someone has it, or knows it, please post up. It went something like this: 1. The ATF will come up with a rulin...

Re: holster retention systems

If it's an IWB holster, I would suggest a friction fit retention. No need for anything else unless your daily job is either Cirque du Soleil, or some place that you're worried about someone grabbing your gun. I see no need for higher retention than that on a concealed carry gun. I like hybrid holste...

Re: What the F### can be done about gun massacres?

I think there are two main items that can help with the mass shootings. 1. Get more people to carry concealed in more places. Yes, the liberals will never carry themselves, but the more of us get out there carrying, it might help make up the difference. It may not "stop" the mass shootings...

Re: Shotgun best for home defense.

For home defense a shotgun is just fine. The handgun is easier to have available at all times, but less effective. The rifle gives you range at the expense of over penetration. For most all home defense situations, you don’t need more than 10 yards range... 30 feet. Few rooms are further than that ...

Re: Shotgun best for home defense.

According to our president, you are correct... Good topic, I'm torn between three choices, and none of them are the shotgun. I just can't get past the low capacity, high recoil, slow reloading thing. Choice A would be a 5.56 AR pistol with a 10.5" barrel. Choice B would be a 5.56 AR pistol with...
