Good question...there must be some reason they load those rounds like that, but it certainly seems like a lot of wasted powder

460 S&W Fireballs from High Speed Video - 10 pics

this was filmed at Bill's in Robbinsdale, guy was shooting a rented 460SW and I think he was using Hornady ammo...had the red polymer tipped bullets. Filmed at 300 frames per second, which is about as fast as the camera will go with indoor lighting...

Re: .357 Magnum Fireballs - 4 frames from high speed video

Cool. I was just reading up on muzzle flashes. Apparently only about 30% of the chemical energy of the cartridge gets converted to kinetic energy in the bullet. The rest is waste, or as we call it, fun. And maybe a touch of permanent hearing loss. Interesting in the top frame how the gap behind the...

Re: Gun shops in and around the Twin Cities

Bill's Gun Shop - Bought my AR there; a customer, a MPLS SWAT officer did a better job of selling it to me than Bill's staff. Didn't try to haggle Koscielski's Guns & Ammo; bought my Sig 380 from him at a gun show, didnt haggle Frontiersman, bought 2 Mosin Nagants there (haggled 2nd one), very g...

Re: pocket pistols - Kahr 380? DB380? Other?

I carry a Sig P232 SL in the summer, it fits in the pocket of a few of my cargo shorts really well, and IWB is pretty comfortable too. Its a sweet gun, all stainless including the frame, Hogue grips, night sights.... I kind of wish I had looked at the 9mm Kahr though, just for the extra power and ch...

Re: Most Accurate Rifle under $1000

I just bought a Tikka T3 lite stainless..$550, 30.06.

right out the box it grouped 0.89" with Federal 150 grain SP.

I have a Savage accutrigger rifle too, and I think the Tikka trigger is way nicer..

Re: Sig p238 is no good!

Well I'm glad I didn't trade my P232 for a P238 now. My P232 has never malfunctioned, of course I have only fired about 100 rounds in it, since .380 is so expensive. My Sig SP2009 has been flawless The Mosquito..I won't go there...it works pretty good now after thousands of rounds and some polishing...
