Kimber is working just fine for me.

Re: Best gun shops in the Twin Cities?

I recently ordered a shotgun through Bill's for a brand that they carried (Stoeger) but one that they didn't have in stock - Squib Joe handled the transaction for me, kept in touch with me, and let me know when it arrived - wait was about 10 days or less as I recall. I thought it was superbly handle...

Re: First 1911?

Gunstop had several, as did Al in white bear lake, Al had a few Colt's that would be $700 to 900, for good solid used guns, as well as few new ones for around the same, (series 70's do bring a slight premium over new production) I still haven't been to Al's, I need to check that out, particularly n...

Re: First 1911?

I saw several (colts / S&Ws) at Bullseye Shooter's Supply in Lake Elmo, MN earlier today -- nice selection, particularly if you're after colts. Beyond that, my first 1911 was a Kimber Classic CDP - still a great pistol. I like my Springfield Mil-Spec as well, which will run you $700 or so last t...

Re: Found a DW Sportsman...

Nice looking pistol - congrats!

I was just at Bullseye Shooter's Supply in Lake Elmo, who I note now have a fine selection of 1911s from Colt. I saw "just a few" that I would like to own :)

Re: Ear Protection (Electronic) Recommendation

Quick update -- On Don's (and other's) advice above, I ordered the Peltor Tac 7S -- they arrived last night and fit/work great.

I'll get a chance to shoot with them either today or tomorrow - and then in Don's class next Friday.

Thanks for the recommendation!

Re: Gander Mountain Price Match (Rude)

I don't expect you'll have any problems with your new gun, or require any duct tape, but consider it a standing offer to help you out regardless of where it was purchased. Regardless, there's a reason I visit your store to buy stuff versus Gander (where I generally just window shop) - much better s...
