Re: 95% AR-15 Lowers

95% my ass, the area of the trigger group isn't even milled out. Good luck with it if you don't have access to a bridgeport.

Re: Possible Manditory "Gun Insurance"

How would us having insurance help anyone when a thug breaks into one of our homes, steals our properly secured firearms and commits a criminal act with them?

Re: reloading sabot slugs?

Do you have a source for slugs and sabots? I wouldn't waste my time reloading rifled slugs.

Once you receive the "matching funds" don't they require you to become open to the public?

The DNR will happily give you money if you host Firearms Safety classes.

Re: The future of shooting

The top of the food-chain will still be occupied by those who can range with a reticle, read a mirage, spin turrets, and squeeze. So says Mr. Murphy. I disagree. As good of a shot as you may be, computers will be able to make a more accurate one faster that a person. We don't do manual shots on our...

Re: AR-15 guidance please

If you really want to get to 1000 with a .223, make sure you go with an 8-twist or faster barrel. 600 yards is no problem for 75-77-is bullets but past that, things start to fall apart quickly. Even single loading with longer than mag-length 80-90 grain bullets, it's still a long ways. Not looking ...

Re: Do barrels lose accuracy over time?

use a multi-piece steel rod on the muzzle with no protection you'll destroy it faster than anything. Don't use nylon either as that will wear away the muzzle as well. Over-cleaning will destroy it. High rates of fire will cause excessive throat erosion. Magnum cartridges and your other "overbo...

Re: New to me M1 from CMP

Is there any interest in a CMP Garand Match? I know GRRC in Harris has 4 scheduled CMP matches next summer. Otherwise, if there was enough interest, I might be talked into hosting one at Post 435. ETA: We could even make it a Vintage Rifle Match and include all the guys with Mosin's. HEY! How about...
