Re: Two and a half months of work of a Master

Galazan or Connecticut shotgun company usually has some used doubles in stock last time I was there they had a .470 NE double of fifties era manufacture, a British Best grade for about $75,000 which had some wear. If you want to know prices on engraving think about it on a annual salary issue. Two a...

Re: wanna get my feet wet/looking to start reloading

Yuppers. There is a lot of crap to buy to get started and trying to do it on the cheap is more expensive than just doing it right the first time. Used single stage presses are avaiable and will work to start. Once you get just a little understanding getting a progressive is the ticket for handgun an...

Re: A forum bird hunt ?

I would be interested in a sporting clays day if that happens. If someone wants to try the group hunt but is missing a shottie, please don't let this stop you from speaking up. There are enough members talking about going whom I know I would have no trouble making sure an 870 or two could be provided.

Re: Fundraiser at restaurants to help Uptown fire survivor

Farmer, that's true true he did have an option. But like many 27 year olds he was fiercely independent and he was living life his way. He was also working two plus jobs and trying to get enough ahead to get married. Working as he did he didn't make enough to get health insurance either. In hind site...

Re: Fundraiser at restaurants to help Uptown fire survivor

If someone wants to donate to Alex please pm me for additional information. That said, I plan on being there (uptown) about 1:00 or so. The biggest loss for Alex has been his buddy and best friend. The next has been his bikes and bike tools. He also lost a very impressive comic book collection from ...

Re: neighbor kids

Three little boys were out playing "army" in the back yard of the house next to one I am working on, using sticks for guns. Granola mom walks out and starts talking about Peace and Justice and little boys playing army is bad. I took a 1x6 and jig sawed out a few 1911's and handed them out....

Re: first time flying with a handgun

Frankly, its become so common place now that airline attendants hardly blink. your factory case will work fine, keep the ammo separate, I run a zip tie thru the barrel and ejection port just so I dont have to pick it up to show anyone at the ticket counter, I just open the case, they look and say &q...

Re: Pot farm bust in Minnesota state park prompts safety warning

Several years ago hunting out west we stumbled upon a very, very large operation. The guide we were with was quite emphatic about "Ain't no elk worth the kind of hurt that would bring if we continued on.". My brother did get a location via some compass bearings and reported it when we got ...

Re: 629 vs Super Redhawk vs ???

if you can't do it with a .45 Colt, you probably don't want to do it with a handgun..... right gun, right loads, from 185 grain poppers for plinking up to buffalo loads. use Lil' gun with 310 grainers from LBT /Leadheads. 1300 FPS is easy to do in a blackhawk. at the right angle, if you shoot a nice...

Re: so the wife just said

I have a nice 1100 20 gauge auto she can try, its not for sale, but its a nice gun that with field loads barely taps the shoulder. I personally like 11-87's and older beretta 390' series guns. Here's a link to consider, http://randywakeman.com/Most_Reliable_Autoloading_Shotgun.htm http://www.cabelas...
