Re: Sig P250

I own all three guns mentioned.
I carry the P250 .40. Great gun. Long double action pull, but very smooth. Plenty accurate for what I'm using it for.

All of my 1911's and my model .41 are for knocking out the x ring.

Can never go wrong with any M&P. Great guns.

Re: I just dipped my toe in the water...

Lee Classic Turret is a great press.
It deprimes and primes in two easy steps.

Re: buy a desert eagle: 44 or 50?

I like and own the .44mag DE. Like you, I reload for all three of my.44 mags. I had a DE .44/.50 and was offered a trade for a .41/.44 with Magnum Research installed adjustable sights. I jumped on that one. Those adjustable sights were too good to pass up, and I wouldn't care to have the .50. Just t...

Re: Who reloads for pistol 44 mag/44 special

I also have a S&W 686-4 with a 6 inch barrel. Great gun.
For deer, I only use my .41mag Blackhawk, or one of my three .44 magnums.
The .357 for me, is a tad too light for big game.

Re: Who reloads for pistol 44 mag/44 special

Off topic just a tad. This afternoon I picked up from Lakes Trading the Ruger GP100 .357mag with a 4" barrel. I went into the Range and fired some full house loads through it. Like my S&W 29-2 .44 mag with it's 4" barrel, there was very little barrel jump and was fun and accurate. For ...

Re: Who reloads for pistol 44 mag/44 special

26.8gr with a 200gr HP/XTP bullet shot out of my Desert Eagle lights up the range. The fire coming out of the barrel is unbelievable. Sometimes playing around like this can be fun. After reading what you guys posted, I'd like to try shooting a snubby like yours just for the heck of it. Never would h...

Re: Who reloads for pistol 44 mag/44 special

I reload 6.5gr of W231 with 240gr cast bullets for two of my .44 magnums. Accurate and mild recoil target load. For hunting, I load up H110 with 240gr HP/XTP Nothing to prove on the range. If I want to go macho, I bring out my Desert Eagle with full house reloads. Shooting a short barrel .44 magnum ...

Update on Combat shooting league in Forest Lake

Just to give an update on the Combat shooting League at Lakes Trading. The league is going better and is much more fun than I expected. It is fast shooting but there is great potential for the shooters to improve their scores and shooting ability as the weeks pass. After the first ends Ben is planni...

Re: Handgun hunting.

I feel confident with any one of my three .44 magnums with iron sights up to 75 yards. I use my .44 magnums instead of a shotgun when I hunt around here. When hunting at home in Ely, I carry my Marlin 45/70 Guide Gun that I have taken a pile of deer with. I'll take my 45/70 any day over a pistol if ...

Combat Shooting League in Forest Lake

Hello Gang. I mentioned this League on another post of mine. I had Ben, the owner of Lakes Trading and Gun Range send me the information on this upcoming League which will start the Tuesday, November 4th. I will be overseeing the shooting of this League, and plan on putting in a few wrinkles of my o...

Re: Day at OGC...

Doug, I figure after deer season.
I also have a .22 dueling tree coming from Law Enforcement Targets which should be fun for us to play with when it gets here.

My phone is 651-462-4587

Re: Day at OGC...

Maybe, after deer season is over, we should check the weather forecast, pick a good day, and then a bunch of you guys can shoot with me as guests at the FLSC. Sure would be a lot of fun, and then we could meet face to face instead of on the internet. Would be a great way to spend time together. Also...
