Nice Elk gun! Sorry Dean, had to take that shot based on that thread awhile back about .308 and Elk if you remember.

Re: 6.5 mm's coming into their own?

Ironbear, you are right on the Elephant hunter. Bell was said to have used a 6.5 for most of his Elephant kills followed by his 7X57 and I beleive he killed more elephants than anyone else ever.

Re: 6.5 mm's coming into their own?

1909 Carl Gustaf 96 Mauser Sporterized/Scoped Absolute tack Driver. Oh, sweet! You can't beat that! One of my favorite gun lines was from a cartridge review done in Feild and Stream a couple of years ago. The author was making the point that in Europe the Swede is used regularly for Moose. His line...

I have always heard that about the Swede. What kind of set up do you have it in?

6.5 mm's coming into their own?

Just read a great article in Shooting Times (may 2009) on what are some of my favorite cartridges, the .25 Calibers (.257 Roberts, .25-06, .257 Weatherby). In this article the author also had glowing praise for the .260 Remington. Stated it was one of his favorites for deer size game on several cont...

Re: Is this a joke?

Count me in! Web site does not say who to talk to if you want to buy just how to sell. Who do you talk to if you see some in the pics that you want to bid on?

Re: SHORT NOTICE!!! EFFEN OCB Breakfast at the Gopher!!!

Alright, not trying to tell anyone what to do or how they should act. Just stating that as a newbie on this forum it seemed a bit harsh for the comment.

I do think that I am entitled to my opinion on that right?

Re: Cabelas scopes

For less than 3 bills you can get a Nikon Buckmaster series. Many different models to choose from including a 6-18 with turrets. Much better glass than the pine ridge, just my 2 cents. Correction: just checked Cabela's site the 4.5-12 is 299 the 6-18 is 359 though I have seen them on sale for better...

Re: .223 Wolf

Thanks for the heads up. I used to shoot the Wolf but was told by some others that the steel cases are hard on your AR and that the coating on the case builds up inside the chamber gumming it up. I quit using Wolf at that point but wondering what others' experinces have been with it. Of course at th...

Re: Anybody going to the gun show this weekend?

With all due respect. The originator of this post reqested we agree to disagree and move on. As you can see from my last post, I agree with those terms and while the debator in me finds it difficult to disengage in light of other comments made I do feel that this was fair request and one that I will...

Re: Ordered .223 on the 18th of Feb, still hasn't shipped

The current ammo shortage is crazy. I hope by hunting season things turn around. I am usually too cheap to buy ammo at anything but the cheapest prices I can find and usually I find Fleet Farm at the top of my shopping list, but lately their ammo shelves have been completly empty. Even premium ammo ...

Re: Anybody going to the gun show this weekend?

Once again, if you really think it does not apply to permit holders then why not open carry past the gaurd and just show him your permit? I understand you statements and I do agree with you to a point. I really did not think it applied to permit holders. Why wouldnt they ad "this applies to pe...
