Re: Springfield armory 1911

After shooting the dickens out of your Springer, ask a buddy if you could shoot his Nighthawk. You will come close to tinkling in your pants, they're that good.

Re: Selling Nationally? - GunBroker, Armslist, etc.

I have had great luck selling and buying on Gunbroker. Their audience is huge. And when dealing with more expensive pieces, there just isn't the market locally. Hereabouts everybody wants the best at half price. Won't work for me...

What is this Guy Firing?

"A former member of the Kurdish peshmerga who volunteered again to fight against militants from the Islamic State takes up a position near Mosul, in northern Iraq."

Long damned barrel.

Re: Short rant re: Bill's

Just talk to the owner. Things will be set straight.

Have been going to Bill's for years and have never had a problem with the management. Joe will break his backside to help you choose and order a gun at an excellent price.

Re: In Search of Accuracy - the AR Platform

After reading all the posts (thanks, guys!), I decided to spec out my new rifle with the following: 1. Rifle length gas system (the bullet spends less time in the barrel once the bolt starts moving). 2. Free floated barrel. 3. Eotech with a 7x magnifier. 4. Heavy barrel. Here are the results from my...

Rip Van Winkle wrote:What do you consider accurate?

It's fairly easy to achieve sub moa accuracy with the AR platform.

Honestly? That is what I have been looking for. Outside of JP and a whole bunch of money, what will get me there?

Re: Savage Arms 111 hog hunter

Being a long time Hog Hunter ( Fla Everglades ) isn't a .338 Win Mag a bit of overkill? Won't be anything left to eat... I took a 330 lb Boar back in 1979 with a 44 Mag Pistol. I have friends that still hunt them only with dogs and a knife. Nice gun though I believe your friends are called Canadiens.

In Search of Accuracy - the AR Platform

I have gone through about ten AR's now over the years, looking for one fun feature or another, but always in search of a very accurate rifle. I have been underwhelmed. What have I missed out there, or is it the platform itself?
