Re: Eotech used pricing help

The G33 is a great magnifier and works well with other RDS besides Eotech. The XPS 2-0 is an OK RDS, but has a reputation for zero-shift in cold temps. That's not likely as big a deal as it sounds, but that reputation definitely puts Eotech sites a long way down the scale on the used market. Persona...

You mean like legalizing suppressors?

He vetoed that at least once. Ultimately signed it in a subsequent legislative session. So...yeah. Not unwise to keep pushing.

Re: Constitutional Carry and Self Defense Law Reform to be heard

Nothing will bw secured with Governor Goofy or any other Democrat Governor. Wanna get a Republican elected Governor, concentrate on areas that you can actually win, the Range Ain't it. I agree that Dayton likely won't sign either of those bills, but it doesn't hurt to keep trying. If nothing else, ...

For a visible, spurting arterial wound, you need to apply direct pressure to the bleeding site. A tampon doesn't address that requirement in any way.

A large chunk of the population is very pro-Dem due to union influence, but it is a very different mentality than core Metro liberalism.

Yes, I'd agree with that. They aren't knee-jerk liberals.

Re: Constitutional Carry and Self Defense Law Reform to be heard

Have you been to the Arrowhead and have you experienced their Brainwashed Hatred for any and all things Republicans? If Jesus Christ himself ran as a Republican and Satin himself ran as a Democrat, Satin would win hands down in the arrowhead. I lived and worked in the heart of the Iron Range for se...

Re: Home gunsmithing gone wrong

You have more info than I got out of the little blurb quoted above. I don't disagree that tourniquets are more trouble than they are worth, ditto to the rapid clot powders, in 99+% of cases. I thought the wound was lateral thigh above the knee with exit at the medial ankle. (Female with a DOH holst...

Nope. In fact, there's really no choice. Anti-gun factions will certainly keep trying to push their agenda.

Re: Constitutional Carry and Self Defense Law Reform to be heard

I applaud the effort, but certainly these issues, even if passed, would be DOA at the governor's desk. I can't imagine that Dayton's LEO "advisors" would endorse either of those two initiatives. Is there enough legislative support to override the inevitable veto?

Re: Home gunsmithing gone wrong

I dunno, I wasn't there, but if her posterior tibial artery was disrupted as she said, then she may well have needed a tourniquet. No the posterior tibial artery at mid-calf or lower is a fairly trivial artery. Furthermore, there was no spurting bright red blood that didn't respond to direct pressu...

Re: Home gunsmithing gone wrong

Another good lesson here, carry a first aid kit that includes a tourniquet. Take at least a basic first aid course so that you know how to use it. The life you could save may include your own. Tourniquet was not necessary, or even helpful, in this case, but it's true that there been a major arteri...

Re: Home gunsmithing gone wrong

You don't think she has a high probability of developing gangrene in that leg? My grandpa took a grenade in WW2 and he ended up losing the leg below the knee from it in the 80's from gangrene they said resulted from the shrapnel. Gangrene? No, no possibility...her leg will get better, not worse. Am...

Re: 2 inch snubby

Interesting to compare the "terminal ballistics" discussions here, compared to other forums and blogs where guys like Molon Labe or DocGKR (Dr. Gary Roberts) discuss their observations. The level of ballistics expertise here is.....interesting. I carry a 642 shooting .38 Special only when ...
