Re: Carbine

someone1980 wrote:I have wanted a carbine that shoots 9mm or .45.

What do people think of the MP5 or CX-4? Others?

I owned a CX4 in 9mm for about a year, and I have to tell you, LOTS of fun. Great features, and really reliable. put about a thousand rounds through it without a hiccup. Big thumbs up.

Re: AR ammo question.

For what it's worth, a buddy of mine and I fed about 250 rounds of wolf through his ar, and the lacquered cases gummed it up bad enough to freeze a casing in the chamber (granted that 250 rounds was spent in about ten minutes). It was hell to get out. He has since used nothing but brass in it, with ...

Re: Kahr PM9........ yea, or nay?!?

Thanks for the tips everobody, I will wait until I try one, (of course) but by the sounds of it, it may be a bit jumpy for me. Maybe I'll just stick with the wheel gun. :)

Smith in South

Anyone know any reliable, reasonable Smiths in (or near) South Minneapolis? I have a pistol or two in need of some TLC, and I just don't trust some of the big stores that I refuse to mention (Gander Mountain among others). If at all possible I'd like to keep the services "in the family" so...

Re: Pawnshop guns

I feel that it really depends on which pawn shop. I have stopped at many, and yes, a lot of them are shady, and many of then are over priced, but if you find the right one, the prices are decent, and the quality good. My local pawn shop is fun to stop by and browse, and with the vast majority of the...

Kahr PM9........ yea, or nay?!?

I'm looking for a summer carry, and am considering the Kahr PM9. Can anyone give me reasons not to buy? Feed issued? Reliability issues? Anything?!? I'm a little skeptical of such a small firearm (I know, Freud would be laughing his arse off at that one.) but the 45 is a little sweaty on the hot days.

Re: What is your choice for nightstand/bedside handgun?

.45 (10+1)in holster on the side of the nightstand (my side)
9mm (14+1)in holster on other nightstand (DA's side)
She gets the smaller caliber only because she's a better shot than me

Re: Safety -- it's all a matter of definition?

I think the first rule of firearm safety (never point your gun at anything you don't want to destroy) Is worded correctly. It doesn't say "don't point your gun at anything you don't want to destroy unless it's unloaded" for a reason. If anyone at the range decided to introduce me to the bu...

Re: Midwest Brewing Supplies "Target Practice Kegs"

Alright then!! Sit up straight and pay attention!!! If 5 liters of beer are going South on a train at 32 miles per hour towards East Wankershire, and a Brit is hiding in the weeds 2 miles down the track, assuming a 100% conversion of beer to pee, how big a whizz will the Brit (now out of the weeds ...
