Detail strip it down to the frame and give it a good cleaning. The replace all the springs with new ones from Wolff.

Re: Glock 34 -- Somebody Convince Me

I really like the longer sight radius of the 34 over a 17. It makes it much easier to shoot in my opinion. A friend also has a 34 and he has a light on it. Shooting a 34 with light attached is very easy. The muzzle just stays put and followup shots are quick. I'd always recommend a 34 over a 17 unle...

Re: Grumpy guy makes shooting less fun.

We suggest he move. He syas he likes that particular lane, the light is better... From Cuda66's post, they suggested the guy move. He didn't want to. Since he decided to stay, it's now GG's own decision to try to shoot next to other shooters. Screw GG. Way too many Grumpy Guys around even if...

Re: wet gun

I'll pile on by saying water/wetness doesn't really matter. I took a pistol class a couple years ago and it rained all day long. Magazines were dropped in water puddles, ammo was loaded wet, etc. I just so happened to be using a Glock that day and it took it like a champ, no failures of any kind. I'...

Re: Steel shelving units

What are the per shelf & overall weight limits? I have what looks like the same shelves that I bought at Menards. 5 or 6 feet long, about 6' high. I bought enough shelves so except the bottom one, they are spaced vertically just far enough apart to store .50 ammo cans. And both my shelving unit...

Re: All you junior gunsmiths, lay it on me!

I'd agree with those who say you are short stroking it. I had similar problems with my 870 but more intermittant. After talking with a gunsmith who looked it over, he concluded it was operator error and to just be more forceful with it. So now I operate it much harder than I used to and it doesn't h...

Re: SBR owners

Glad to hear you are good to go. I just saw this thread or I'd have put in my two cents earlier. I did a Form 1 right after we got a new chief. He'd never seen one before. I didn't present it to him as if it was an option for him to sign, merely a peice of gov't paperwork that was required before I ...

Re: Need some cleaning advice

I'd say get it functionally clean and don't worry about the appearance too much. Clean the bore and cylinders, use am old tooth brush on the cylinder face, forcing cone, and any other nooks and crannies. Then make sure it has a dab of oil on the moving parts, buy more cheap ammo (because you can sho...

Re: New AK bending jig

Outstanding jig! On a normal AK, the hammer will drag on the bolt carrier a bit. Sometimes so much so that it will actually hold the carrier back, like a bolt hold open, until you bump the receiver or charging handle. Some AK's exhibit more of this than others. It sounds to me like your rails are a ...
