Re: Denver Instruments Scale

Where'd you get it for that?

Following the link from 6mmbr, it says the promotional period is over. Wondering if you get it before the period was over, or you found it somewhere else.

Re: Your opinion!

if I have the opportunity to shoot beyond 50yds or so I'll bring my 7mm, but the trees/brush are so thick where I hunt that I didn't set the 40-50yd range, nature did. I'll look into the .44 also, just wanted to get a smaller rifle since where I hunt, the 7mm is getting close to overkill... I hear ...

Re: Your opinion!

Fine rifle, a lot of fun to shoot. A .357 is a bit light. You may want to extend your range a little bit in the future. Have you considered the .44Mag? In a factory Marlin it offers little longer barrel (20") and a little more "butt" for deer. When you see that buck of a lifetime at 9...

Re: Where to shoot?

Thanks for the heads-up. I did see that, and talked with a couple of members offline (thanks guys).

Got my acceptance letter in the mail a couple days ago. Maybe see you at the orientation?

Re: How cold will you go?

I should add that it was pretty calm while we were there. I can't imagine what it would have been like with a 15mph wind. Probably would have pulled the smart chute and stayed inside and watched football.

Oh, and the little handwarmer packet things didn't work (at all) on the two cold days.

How cold will you go?

Just for giggles, what's the coldest weather you've ever hunted in? I just got back from Kenora, Ontario, where my buddy and I were wolf hunting. We sat for 4 days from dawn to dark in blinds over bait, waiting for wolves that never showed up. The dawn temperatures were -8, -28, 7 and -22 (F). I sti...

Re: AccuPro 12 gauge patch jag - Houston, we have a problem.

Never thought of using a jag for a shotgun. Although I may try one for my rifled slug barrel.

For a smooth bore try wrapping a patch around a bronze brush.

Re: Got my PTP today, but...

I feel your pain. My first name is spelled Jon. I can't tell you the number of times I've had to have it corrected. Most times I let it go, but there are times you need it to be correct (such as yours). I've often mused that on my death bed, I'll figure up all the time I spent in my life correcting ...

Re: Where to shoot?

Sorry for the ambiguity, I was thinking of the Gopher range near Harris. A member of the ERSC pm'ed me, and the ERSC would be ideal. Bad timing on my part to find a sponsor there, applications are due soon, and I'm out of town next week (and he's already spoken for). I didn't know about the Cokato c...
