Re: Just saying hello

Welcome to our merry mess of mostly males. We need more girls of the womanly sort over here. At least it will stop the persistent rumors about Gecko that haven't been spread yet. Good job right off the bat!

Re: Wanted:To Go on a hunt

Just a couple of questions first: -Were you born before 1974? If you are not, you will have to go through hunter safety class to get a permit. If you want to just tag along and not hunt yourself, that is a moot point of course. -What kind of hunting would you like to do? Hunting is as varied as the ...

Re: New Year's Resolution on Gun Purchases?

The drive to buy more guns has subsided somewhat after I got my Colt Python this year but still, there are a couple of things that are on the list: - Upland O/U with straight English stock (think Beretta 686/Browning Citori) - Rock River Predator upper for AR15 - Back up trap gun (Winchester model 12)

Re: suggestions for high comb shotguns

Thank you for the name. I'll contact Mr. King. Another little tip: Have him put a midbead on the rib of your shotgun. A midbead will immediatly show whether you are shouldering your shotgun right, ideally you want your front bead and your midbead to line up for hunting or form a figure 8 for trap. ...

Re: Swedishbabe's first pheasant.

Yes. Pheasant veal is much better than pheasant leather. See a rooster with short tail feathers, blast it! See a rooster that is balding, wearing suspenders, and yells at kids on skateboards for going too fast... let it go. Mmmmm, pheasant veal http://i249.photobucket.com/albums/gg210/b...

Re: Marlin jam

I sure hope you get it right over here. I had to go to Ahlmanns' to get my 444 Marlin fixed and I never want to go to that mildew infested hellhole again. They sort of fixed mine eventually after many months and phonecalls.

Re: suggestions for high comb shotguns

A session with a good fitter is what you need. I can recommend Kirk King from Minnetonka Gunsmithing, he knows what he's doing. http://www.minnetonkagunsmithing.com/ Any shotgun you may have can be modified to fit you and sometimes slapping on a layer of moleskin on your stock can make a...

Re: Swedishbabe's first pheasant.

Congratulations on getting your first pheasant sweedishbabe. On a side note belgi, you being from my side of the world, I thought we referred to these as cocks not roosters. Hang on i get it ;) Not really an appropriate place to caption a photo of your wife with her first..ahem..rooster. Gotcha!! A...

Swedishbabe's first pheasant.

Last weekend was perfect. Three days of Pheasant Phest in North Dakota with tons of roosters, beautiful weather, good company and an occasional adult beverage of course. My wife shot her first bird and has been walking with a spring in her step ever since. Normally she's extremely apprehensive about...

Same here. The best deal out there if you want a good shooter and don't care too much about looks and/or brand names.
