Re: Is .357 Magnum the most versatile modern caliber?

Coonan, Desert Eagle, LAR Grizzly. Two 357 mag pistols are still in current production, both MN companies. Just saying there was more than 1 pistol designed for 357mag. I'm probably missing a couple too. But yeah the rim does limit it. Also in response to the BFR post. Yest they will do bottle neck,...

Re: Is .357 Magnum the most versatile modern caliber?

If you include hunting I would say the 44mag is more versatile. I have deer hunted with a 357 and 44. The 44 is much better suited for hunting. If I were to have just one revolver it would be a 44. You can load them down so they don't kick at all or load them up for deer, bear or larger game.

MEC 9000 12ga Reloader

I have a MEC 9000 for sale. I just don't use it anymore, I have just been buying 12ga. I have the press, spare bottles, some shot, tons of wads(I'm not going to list them all, most are for 1 1/8oz). It has a 1 1/8 shot bar and a few bushings. I am not looking for trades at this time. If the trade we...

Re: Bayou 124gn .357 bullets. Nothing to crimp?

I'd get some SWC and call it a day. Not worth messing around with taper crimp on a 357.

Re: Places to practice shooting.

I quit publicly telling anyone about the outdoor shooting opportunities within 2 hours of the Cities. They get so trashed within such a short period of time - then anyone else who goes there thinks it's just normal to leave all their garbage, spent shells, targets, lumber, glass, furniture, TV's, e...

Re: Places to try out Suppressors?

Have you guys tried out an integral .22? I hear that they are quieter, but then I hear when it's apples to apples, maybe only a dB or two. From what I am told, the porting will bring the bullet subsonic so there's no crack. So when comparing to subsonic ammo in a good screw on can, it's closer than...

Re: Places to practice shooting.

The state lands are not all that convenient. I would pay $20 any day to shoot for a little bit locally. Plus if you drive all the way out to the local gravel pit you never know who you will find. I have shot at these types of locations in the past and prefer to spend say $40 on a range membership. P...

Re: Places to try out Suppressors?

I'd only go with an integral in a 22LR rimfire rifle. There is a big difference in a full baffled barrel and a screw on rimfire can Even when comparing similar barrel lengths? The advantage of the integrals is the typically run super short barrels and very long baffle stacks. I could see them being...

Re: Ruger Mark III 22/45 Suppressed

The tires were just an analogy. The point was if you are trying to show off your business it would probably be best to use high quality products to do so. You should not need to use special ammo, run custom bolts and tune a 22LR to get your rimfire can to be quiet. A high quality can out of the box ...

Re: Places to try out Suppressors?

Thanks for the info on Rice Creek. I may have to check it out. Would you happen to know if there were any dealers with integral guns? Those look interesting. I agree about trying these out at shooting shows though. I was hard to get a feel for them when I was at Ahlmans. And with the limiters on ce...

Shoot him a call or email. He has more help now and lead times are pretty reasonable these days. I'm probably going to order a 6DTI for Coyote, should be sweet with 70gr varmint bullets!!

Re: Places to try out Suppressors?

These large events are hard to get a good feel for a suppressor. You usually have a lot of shooting going on and have to wear ear pro anyway. I would buy a high quality suppressor and look at reviews online. Things I have learned: rimfire cans must me SST or TI for was of cleaning, you won't feel th...
