Re: VZ2008 vs WASR vs M70 vs Others

I was going to suggest a Valmet, or the Finnish variant made while Finland was a client state of the old USSR but this search http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/SearchResults.aspx?SearchType=0&Timeframe=0&Keywords=Valmet&Cat=3024&Items=50 Made me realize I have made quite a profit on ...

Re: VZ2008 vs WASR vs M70 vs Others

OK Nat, Are you talking about something like a Saiga IZ-132? From what I see, the Saiga IZ-132 does have a chrome lined barrel and costs about $350 here: http://www.centerfiresystems.com/SAI-762.aspx If I understand correctly, I think you have to add some kind of insert to be able to...

Re: VZ2008 vs WASR vs M70 vs Others

Stopped by Fleet Farm to get some dog food and had a look at a WASR .... not much (AT ALL) for fit or finish but it sounds like they go boom every time you pull the trigger. Anyone know if they still have front sight cant problems & mag wobble problems? Chrome-lined barrels Important or Not Impo...

VZ2008 vs WASR vs M70 vs Others

A friend of mine was asking what is the best ECONOMY AK (or in the case of the VZ, AK like) weapon to get to plink with 7.62x39. I told him I don't know crap about it. I don't think he cares about fit or finish but more that it goes bang and has reasonable accuracy at 100 yds (2-3 MOA) SO You people...

Re: Trying to choose a CCW

This is really a tough one to answer since weapon choice tends to be a highly personal issue. I'd recommend going to a large shop and trying some different ones for comfort, fit in hand, weight, etc. Then look at renting your finalists at Bill's or a comparable shop where you can try some different...

Re: Trying to choose a CCW

I have a sigp226, ... I was given the opportunity to shoot a p229, but I still feel ... has anyone tried the P232? ... Any recommendations on other guns to try as well? I'm seeing a trend here. Perhaps you should try a p239? Many Sig fans like to carry them. You've got a choice of 9mm, .40, or 357 ...

Re: Anyone use Pau Ferro (Hogue) grips?

Mainly replacing some oversize grips that I can't get my hands around. I'm wondering if the Pau Ferro grips are a little thinner than the oversized Hogue rubber grips.

Anyone use Pau Ferro (Hogue) grips?

Hi All,

I'm wondering if anyone has experience with these grips. I'm mainly wondering if they're thinner or thicker. Also, I'd like to know if they're easy to hold onto.

Re: I feel Naked

I've just been wandering around a town in France called Moutier and the weight of a cell phone on my hip is not very comforting. What do you do when you can't take your Roscoe? Go get a whole bunch of change and put it in your pocket. If you can get by the jingling, you'd at least be "balanced...

Re: Mossberg Chainsaw

I thought I saw a post on the boards here at MGT some time ago about someone's Uncle (or similar) that trimmed his trees with a shotgun. I think the marketing folks at Mossberg saw a new "niche."

My $0.02,
