Re: Buying two guns for adult kids

Small gun = big kick; big gun = small kick. [Basic rule-of-thumb, YMMV.]

If your daughter goes to the range enough the flinch will go away. I don't know anyone that needs an excuse to shoot more often.

Re: Critical Duty?

Probably because there are a lot of home expansion tests where people are shocked and disappointed at the expansion relative to other premium ammo. See this thread as an example:

Re: Atlanta Businessman Requires All Employees to Get Permits

A free gun; wish I had an employer like that! :D No kidding! My employer hosted and subsidized PTC class (optional, open to all employees) but we didn't get free guns! (And I wasn't up for renewal... Subsidized class just so happens to coincide with the owner's PTC expiration, but I did sit in on c...

I never acquire a firearm with the intent to sell, trade, or otherwise get rid of it.

Re: Glock 80% Frame

I found a 22 G3 online and figured $610 shipped including FFL xfer and a $90 LWD barrel (to eliminate glock-bulge on .40 brass). Then I figured $136 lower, $90 for LWD barrel, $250 for a take-off slide (ebay) or $325 for LWD slide complete, $60 for Glock adjustable rear and HIVIZ fiber optic front s...

Re: Gun Control - Can We Agree On One Thing?

I think we can agree on one thing: Gun Control means hitting your target. 1) I think a solid 20% of Americans are actually incapable of honest, rational, critical thought. 2) Another 20% either: Know the facts or are at least capable of critical thought and choose to intentionally ignore or deceive ...

Re: Gun Safe

Side Note: may be worth while check with your home insurance company. My insurance allowed me to add the safe and it's contents to my current home policy for free as long as the price of the safe was >10% of the value I wanted to claim for the contents. And did you have to declare contents up fr...

Re: Gun Safe

Does anyone have a guideline for cost vs value of contents? A $100 locking "security cabinet" might thwart the most casual of neighborhood kids, but then again those same neighborhood kids probably wouldn't touch a gun that was just leaned against the wall because it's a lot quicker and ea...

Re: Concealed EDC for limp-wristed, weak-fingered, new shooter?

One issue that I have is that I've had very bad RSI in the past which come back quickly when I slip into bad ergonomic habits. So, while I have a "grip master" in my Amazon buy-later list, because I've heard great things about it for developing grip and finger strength. But I worry that i...

Re: Handgun Locations for Home Security

If you really think you need it, why not just keep your carry gun on you at all times? Nightstand when you go to bed. Because it is impractical and the cops would be called if I mowed the lawn with an AR strapped on. An AR is your EDC? Are you a Blackwater employee? Even if you are a Blackwater emp...
