Re: Resting a rifle on the hood.

My first time out shooting pdogs, my brother in law was standing in the bed of his f350 resting his rifle (using a front bag) on the cab roof. I should dig up the early photos that show his antenna intact... while later photos show it shorter. I laughed then and now at that video. I am glad no one w...

Re: Caffeine and shooting

Well I guess the world needs guys like erud who can be precise, and red bull junkies for "covering fire". My 600 yard targets help me remember my role.

Caffeine and shooting

Does anyone have any experience with doing a before and after of caffeine/shooting vs no caffeine/shooting? I've read a bit about people opinions on the subject but it mainly sounded like those who think it's bad don't do it, and those who don't think it matters to the vast majority of shooters enjo...

Re: Selling your firearms

Gun stop also sells (or at least used to) firearms on consignment. I've made offers on a few and they either knew wiggle room or they would call the owner and relay offer. Added- I would agree selling yourself is typically "the best". Between this site and others it can be fairly painless....

Re: Recent Note from John Farnam, Police Rifle Use

I have often had family or friends ask why I never pursued a career in law enforcement, your candid post is most of my answer. I can't imagine working in such political and dysfunctional environment (not even including what happens outside the station walls). I was at streichers one day and witnesse...

Re: FLSC guest policy

I believe it's one guest. A spouse is also considered a member. If it isn't super busy (rare) and someone is introducing new shooters, it seems there is extra grace. It's more common sense/courtesy than a strictly enforced rule. Bringing someone and their kid doesn't seem to be a big deal. If they a...

Re: TX Hog Hunting with a M240L

I hope to go this year to try it somewhere. Thanks for posting, except now I want 20k in optics and suppression. The video had a few tips and basic ideas about the hogs and equipment I didn't know.

Re: I finally met one.

You don't need a permit for open carry, but to carry concealed, you need a permit.

I'm not a lawyer or well read but I hope this isn't true due to my goal in life of not going to jail

Re: NFA Lawyers Trust

I emailed Ben today, and had a response in a few hours with forms and answers. I agree he is probably pretty busy though and I maybe just got lucky (or an assistant) ).

Re: Tactical Yoga pants!

I showed them to my wife and she was very excited to try them. Not for the tactical pitch... but her favorite thing to wear camping and hiking and since I constantly make comments about durability...90 bucks is a small price to pay if I shut up. I've tried to buy them a few different places but it's...

Re: First time shooting suppressed

I use to do quite a bit of audio production/installs. I will not be using a flip phone to test spl's.

First time shooting suppressed

I like it. There were many threads about how it's not worth it, but my experience (one day) found it to be very worthwhile. The suppressor used was an acc omega. The 300 b/o definitely was my favorite, especially subsonic. I was impressed with the 5.56 reduction in sound pressure and at 100 yards th...
