Re: H&K MP5 A5 .22 LR

If you are dead set on an MP5 styled .22, take a look at the GSG 522 also. It is a better design IMO. As posted above the HK model isn't actually made by HK, it is made by Umarex, who is best known for their airsoft guns. The pot metal castings on the Umarex have several ears that are easy to break ...

Re: Guns vs. cash

Maybe one 6920, aside from the few panics they haven't beat inflation by much. Mint condition Colt and Smith revolvers, lever action Winchesters, and US martial arms should bring a much better return on investment.

Re: Hunting land

If you look at Texas or most of the southeast US, you will appreciate how much public land we have in MN. Nearly everything down there is private/corporate owned with steep lease fees. There is plenty of game on public land in MN, but you have to work for it. Most guys want to drive 30 minutes from ...

Re: 870 Shotgun barrel

Mossberg makes an 18" barrel for the 870 for under $100. Won't have a sticky chamber either.

I have a crate of them for $120 ea if you want to make the drive. Metal and bores are geat, dripping cosmoline and ugly stocks.

Re: Simple Threaded Devices is giving away a 5.56 STD

Maybe you could come up with a better slogan than "we're giving away STD's"

Re: Long guns with pistol grip (carbines, and shotguns)

CYA for a private sale, but you do need a PTC or PTP to buy many "military type" rifles from an FFL.

Re: 5.56 ammo

Independence ammo is made by ATK (Federal, CCI, Et al.) in their Lewiston, ID plant. It is sold through a couple distributors to independent retailers, not the mart stores. Good, brass cased ammo identical to the Federal champion branded stuff.

Re: Luger ID

If you could post some pics, I could probably get you some info. The 8,81 is the bore diameter (9mm). The 16 is the last two digits of the serial number, all numbered parts should have that to be considered a "matching" gun. Should also have lots of acceptance stamps on it. The original ma...

Re: Tax stamp for suppressors

Any FFL can possess and transfer NFA items. The class 3 SOT allows them to transfer them without paying the $200 tax on each one. Basically, in MN the only way to possess a suppressor, or non C&R full auto is to have an FFL and have it in inventory for "testing, research, or a law enforceme...

Re: Thinking about a Ruger LCR, any recommendations?

LCR or LCP? You mention .380, which would be for the LCP auto. The LCR is a double action only poly-framed revolver chambered in .38 special or .357 magnum. Both are excellent carry guns. The LCR's have one of the best DA triggers I have ever fired, and are comfortable to shoot with standard .38's, ...

Re: Who bought up all the MN T53's?

I just sold the last one of a crate full. The wood was horrible and the bluing almost gone on all of them, but they all had great bores. A decent shooter for around $100, but I wouldn't pay much more than that for one. The refurbed 91/30's are much nicer at the same price.
