Re: Gun-seizure laws grow in popularity

Yes i've read through all that, but it doesn't specify if the affidavit under oath requires video/audio/electronic/physical evidence, or just the accuser's sworn statement which could easily contain fabricated statements dates times.

Re: Gun-seizure laws grow in popularity

Looking through the details of the bill there appears to be no specific type of proof required, so it looks like just a convincing verbal account under oath is sufficient. May or may not give advanced notice of seizure (depending on severity of 'evidence' given). Must relinquish guns to LE or FFL, e...

Re: Gun-seizure laws grow in popularity

Does anyone actually know what kind of evidence is needed for a judge to sign an order? Audio or video proof of violent intent? A social media post? Or is it just the accuser's statement that they "think" the gun owner might be a danger with no other physical proof? What are the repercussi...

Re: SD is Constitutional Carry

I dunno about nationally MANDATED reciprocity, it kinda sounds like stomping on states rights. The resiprocity map is a mess, so perhaps a national standard that states could opt into recognizing would be easier without stepping on the states rights. As far as interstate transport why are the feds n...

Re: SD is Constitutional Carry

Truthfully, I'd be happier to see more may-issue states go shall-issue than to see shall-issue states go constitutional carry. Why so? Because there are still 8 states that are 'may issue' which let's be honest is more akin to "no carry for you unless you've got connections". The differen...

Re: Sadly Illinois might have it worse...

If only things like this could get more traction: IL bill SB0173 Amends the General Assembly Operations Act. Provides that any member of the General Assembly who wishes to introduce a bill pertaining to a firearm must be able to produce proof, upon request, that he or she has completed: (1) the fire...

Re: Red Flag law and safety

So nobody has an idea if a "red flag gun confiscation order" is actually a search warrant or not?

Re: Red Flag law and safety

Does the MN red flag bill immediately give police a search warrant to enter a residence, or is it not a search warrant and they need to persuade (intimidate) the homeowner into letting them enter the residence to seize firearms? I've heard different states have different versions of this.

Re: House Dems to introduce gun backgrounds checks bill on Tues

A personal account of how UBC's are self defeating. A friend was leaving town for a couple weeks, and there had been a rash of break-in's in his neighborhood. He brings his guns over to my house for safe keeping just in case they figure out he's out of town. It's as simple as drive across town to dr...

Re: House Dems to introduce gun backgrounds checks bill on Tues

They will try to get you to lower your guard by saying, "I come from a family of hunters" or "Grandpa and I used to shoot the .22 when I was young." DO NOT FALL FOR IT!!!!!!!! Had a short conversation about guns with another customer at Cabelas once and he remarked "Only hu...

Re: Vid: Gun Owners Have a Silver Bullet To Kill all Gun Control

GOA is not involved at the state level for any gun rights issues in Minnesota. They're involved heavily federally (I'm a life member of GOA). If your concern is gun rights here in Minnesota, the group to support is the Minnesota Gun Owners Caucus. GOCRA is officially now no longer active (see GOCRA...

Then let's push our 2A friendly Legislators to sponsor pro gun bills and make the other side burn some of that Bloomturd money trying to defeat it.

Re: Vid: Gun Owners Have a Silver Bullet To Kill all Gun Control

Does GOA pester people incessantly for more money like the NRA does? Thinking I should send a little money to a national effort as well, but I don't want to be bombarded with spam and junk mail.

It doesn't stop, it just slows down a little while waiting for the rail cars to come back for the last of the 'cargo".
