Pine City gun show Dec 1-2

There is a gun show at the Pine City armory this weekend. I will be there, if you can make it, stop by and say Hi. I will have a couple of Ruger 1911's if you get there early enough.

Re: FFL problems - Can't find one to receive a gun I bought

There is no requirement to have a copy of the FFL from the shipper. It is customary that they will send one, since it makes logging the gun in easier. I receive lots of guns with no FFL copy, from private parties, distributors, and other dealers. It shouldn't be an issue.

Re: Palmetto State Armory experience

I had the same experience with PSA's dealer sales. Hearing some experiences from my customers, their retail business is hit or miss. They offer some decent products at good prices, but they need to get their distribution system figured out before I would even consider using them again.

Re: Hornady XTPs

I have found the 240gr XTP's will not pass through at less than 1400fps most times. The 300gr XTP's will always IMO. I even had one 250lb buck that I shot in the chest, where the bullet exited between the hindquarters, this was from a Ruger carbine at about 1450fps. 240's will certainly do the job, ...

Re: Budget Pistol

The SAR B6 pistols distributed by EAA are really nice for the money if you want new. I have sold a bunch of them and had really good feedback, basically a poly framed CZ 75 clone. They are on sale on Gallery of Guns this month. Used, Ruger P-series are hard to beat, although the prices have been com...

Lots of .223 ammo

I have quite a bit of .223 ammo on hand, most of this is out of stock everywhere. I can meet between Hinckley and White Bear lake along 35 in the afternoons, or I will be at the MWCA show at the fairgrounds the 27th and 28th. American Eagle/Lake City XM856 64gr Tracers- $10.50/box of 20 Tula 55gr FM...

Re: can anyone explain why BCM is good?

When it comes to AR parts, you would be amazed at how many parts are exactly the same between mfg's. If one company has a feature you like, than by all means buy it. For an identical part, many times you are only paying for a name. Sometimes the same manufacturer will outsource the same part from 4 ...

Re: .300 BLK H&R Handi-Rifle

I don't understand the fascination with the .300 BLK in anything but an AR. It's only real advantage over the 7.62x39 is that it will feed reliably through an AR. In a single shot, or bolt gun, any of the .30 caliber cartridges will do anything the .300 BLK does, plus a lot more, with cheaper, easie...

Re: Question the serial number on new guns not purchased

If you are buying from one of the large online retailers, they probably don't actually have the gun, so they can't give you the serial number if they wanted to. Most of the products shown "in stock" are in stock at the distributor, not the retailer. They have the distributor drop ship the ...

Re: Non-res can't buy long guns?

Generally a FFL can sell a long gun to a person from any state,as long as laws from both states are complied with (including waiting periods, PTP,etc), but some states don't use the FBI NICS system as a point of contact for background checks. That is where the problem lies, TX, FL, TN, CA, and proba...

Re: .44 mag brass shot three times.

I have loaded .44 mag brass in excess of 10 times with full power loads. Even the magnum pistols don't run anywhere near the pressures of a centerfire rifle. You don't see case head separation in pistol rounds, generally you can load them until the necks crack, or the primer pockets get loose.

Re: Mossberg ATR 100

If it shoots anything like mine in .243, you will be very pleased. I have the walnut stocked version, with a Nikko Stirling nighteater scope. First time sighting it in with cheap Remington Core-Lokt 100gr I was getting 7/8" groups at 100 yds. With 75gr handloads I was getting right around 1/2&q...
