Re: J frames

I had an M85 that experienced the indexing issue. I finally replaced the crappy MIM cylinder stop...and sold it to Ttousi. I have a 905 that I love. Zero issues and I didn't have to buy speed loaders for it. I can shoot and carry the same loads I use in my G19 very comfortably. I'm on the fence abou...

Re: Cutting down a hand guard ?

I'm going to bet he doesn't like the fireball and/or the smell and debris when he's shooting. I just had someone check the NcStar we put in a 7.5" SBR last week and the internal diameter was 1.836". That one has a Griffin Blast Shield on the muzzle. Checked the quad-rail on my pistol and i...

Re: Taurus 85 Ultra-Lite 38 special.

I have no idea farmerj...

If you look at the Taurus cylinder stop and it looks like it was chromed then its probably MIM.

I wonder if tootsie will chime in and give us a second opinion on how the S&W stop is holding up in a the last Taurus I fixed.

Re: Taurus 85 Ultra-Lite 38 special.

The only thing I'd watch out for is the cylinder stop.

I've had problems in the past with 2 Taurus 85Ul's with the cylinder stops breaking off under normal wear. They're cheap little MIM parts.

It's not a hard fix, the S&W cylinder stops are usually readily available, and made of real steel.

Re: Buying gun on armslist

Call your local Sheriff. All LE agencies can run a check against NCIC. If you can get even a partial serial # they will get a hit if its been reported stolen.

Re: Anyone have a hobby mill?

I have had a Central Machinery (Harbor Freight) Micro Mill for about 6 years. It's not a bad piece of machinery. The scales are true and there's not a lot of backlash in the screws. I've made small parts on it, machined AR forgings and made many jigs and fixtures. I don't know if I'd call it a rich ...

Re: School me on 9mm AR's.

New Frontier Armory

https://newfrontierarmory.com/shop/c-9- ... tyle-mags/

They have a $170 glock mag lower. Or you could just get a billet receiver paper weight and have one machined out to take 9mm mags of your choosing.

Re: Let's play troll or not troll?

Nope. They're not trolls. The purpose of the protest was to get the grocery chain to post that guns were not allowed in the store. So these 2 suburbanites really believe that if Mariano's will put up a sign banning guns there will be no chance of a shooting in the store. So, not trolls...Just pitifu...

Re: preferred SD round for BUG

I'll throw my $0.02 in for Winchester Silver Tips. My unscientific tests on wild dogs and coyotes 2 years ago got penetration from 8"-12". That was the good news. The bad news was that out of 99 rounds we had 2 expand fully and 7 that fragmented. All the rest looked almost like they could ...

Re: Quality Airsoft handguns

Cobb, I have had a KWA G19 for about 2 years now and I love it. The gun is an almost exact duplicate of my Glock. It weighs the same, the balance is very close, and it cycles the same as my Glock. The slide is weighted pretty heavily at the back to match recoil on a 9mm and it does a very good job o...

Re: Speaking of gun safes...

Since Ace's brother is no longer available...I'll try to fill in. The multiple lock safes of the past are gone for a reason. Mulltiple locks=multiple points of failure. If you build or modify a safe with multiple locks be ready to perform maintenance on the door hinge (good doors are heavy). Even to...
