Re: All-around .308 rifle

I bought a Remington 700 VLS in .243. Then I had it rebarreled with a Mc Gowen heavy barrel in .260 (.308 would be just as easy of course), the action trued, pillar bedded and the trigger cleaned up by Sir Randall Hengl who unfortunately retired pretty much after this project. Re: Hornady Service

Absolutely true. I missed a little part on my case trimmer and it just took one quick call to have it sent to me free of charge. Got it 2 days later. Can't ask for better than that.

Re: Greetings

Welcome Andy. A couple of rifles and pistols is more than most people own. Put up some pics. Images of firearms spread the warm fuzzies all over this forum.

Re: Tips for first handgun purchase

I guess I look at this a little different. When I go shopping either with my wife or daughter or one of the women I have taught to shoot, I generally say I have veto power based on three areas. General quality, General condition, track record. General quality. this is just the "no junk" r...

Re: Tips for first handgun purchase

You have some experience with both an semi-auto and a revolver. Which one do you like to shoot more? Go from there. Don't forget that the .357 magnum revolver offers the choice between soft cushy .38 loads for practice and flame throwing .357 mag loads for self defense and general giggles. I have be...

PPK or P232?

I'm starting to warm up to the idea of getting a smaller, handier gun for carrying. Plenty of choice but I narrowed it down to the Walther PPK or the SIG P232 based on the look. I'm sure that James Bond movies in my tweenage years have something to do with this. Both are considered to be reliable pi...

Re: Remington 700 26" 22-250 Question

This it? http://www.budsgunshop.com/catalog/product_info.php/manufacturers_id/3/products_id/41042 Seems good to me. 22-250 is a barrel burner though, doncha know! I would get a caliber like the 22-250 in a Savage just so I could easily swap barrels myself for the price of a gauge and a barrel wrenc...
