Re: Bill's Fall Shooter's Show

Went today, not much of anything that you can't get any other day. If you're looking to try a gun then it is a great time but if not then I guess it does not have much to offer.

Re: When you're purchasing a handgun do you ...

New, I'm really picky and find most 'slighty' used handguns seem to have a little more 'wear and tear' on them than the stuff I've had for 30years. I know it costs me a few more bucks but the few times I tried used I was never happy. So now I do my research, try a rental if I can, I also buy mine in...

Re: Dream Handgun?

OK, I'll go with boring in comparison. A fully custom 1911, 5 inch bushing barrel, single stack of course, hard chromed, 2-3lb trigger, 35LPI checkering on the front strap, flat top rail, cocking serations front and back, lightened hammer, blened magwell, nice checked grips, the adjustable tactical ...

Re: ENOUGH!!!!

I also run a 650 dillion and when setup and well maintained the only thing I stop for is primer tube reloads, refilling the powder bin and loading the case feeded. Every 3 tubes of primers(300) rounds I refill powder and casings, on you go. Honestly, I'm not sure John(gun stop) is always the cheapes...

Re: When selecting powder

Dean, no disrespect but I hope you provided that chart with humor in mind. Powder selection is something you want to do based on the desired characteristics. Fast to slow burn rates will result in very different loads and thus performance. Just becuase I can get x more loads out of fast powder does ...

Re: Help with cleaning a Kimber.

OK call me picky, I use the plastic coated paper clips so I have no chance of scratching anything. I made up about a dozen and have given half of them away after folks admire them. They look pretty offical all color coated. I tried the handle dip in a small allen wrench but it was to thick and soft.

Re: How many guns owned but not fired?

1 - my father handed down his deer rifle a winchester model 88 lever action 308 in mint condition. He shot less than a box of ammo through it and purchased it new. I can't get myself to anything with it other than wipe it down. However his model 41, K38 and mark II pistols that he shot alot get regu...

Re: Forest Lake event canceled; too political

Great, our schools won't let war heros, who upheld our freedoms, talk to our kids. But god forbid, they tell the drug addits, alternative lifestyle or criminal bunch, that they can't present their views. We live in a very screwed up world. We have got to stop these liberals from shaping our kids int...

Re: What Kind of Handgun Are You?

The test is crazy, most of the questions I would have answered neither or non of your darn business, guess that makes me a 1911. Set in my ways, reliable as possible, good looking to the right folks, and packs a punch.

New Franchi O/U

Bought my son his first shotgun, a Franchi Diamond Elite form Dicks. We went to del tone this morning and shot a round of trap so he could try the new gun out. He did pretty good for the first time swinging a double barrel, 17 of 25. The gun worked perfectly and he even let me try it, once. Nice kid...
