Re: Let's see that venison!

Hmmm. Not sure I would like venison bacon. My dad actually makes deer/elk/antelope bacon. It's not traditional belly fat bacon like you get from pork. It's ground meat mixed with pork trimmings and bacon flavored seasonings. Press it into a pan, smoke it, freeze it and run through the slicer. It's ...

Re: Ruger selling AR15 lower

Noveske has never made a lower receiver, they have been farmed out to various vendors over the years. You are paying a lot of money for a brand name and nothing more. You are paying money for the name, but most of it is actually for the machining and inspection process. Components receive grading b...

Re: Palmetto State Armory AR10 LPK's

Not sure about the AR10 line, but in the AR15 line there is a huge gap in quality between their "Classic" LPK and the "Freedom" line. Palmetto carries good stuff if you stick to what they call the premium or classic line.

Re: Ruger selling AR15 lower

Not really. If you look at an AR15 lower for $129 and you say that's too expensive, adjust your radar. $129 is right in the middle price range of stripped forged receivers. I don't know where you shop but stripped forged are more in the $60-$100 range typically with $130 being the top end. I wouldn...

Re: Firearms insurance

My policy covers full replacement for fire. For theft or loss I was able to negotiate them to cover up to $7500 on my normal plan, then went with a rider for another $10K in coverage, that I think is like $90 a year. Yes I did have to give my serial numbers, description and values, but I see no issu...

Compared to most shotgun shells, yes they are. Always have been. Only thing that might be better is the Remington STS shells.

Re: Fiocchi Shooting Dynamics 12ga 1170 FPS #7.5 Review

Best deal on shotgun shells is to buy Winchester AA's when they have the $2 a box rebate going on in the summer and stock up. Kind of a PITA to cut all the UPC's out, but worth it to get premium ammo at a good price.

Re: A little less than 48 hours.........

Well that was easy. Walked about 40 yards to the ground blind from my back door about 5PM on Saturday. By 6PM there were 11 deer milling around within range. Pick the biggest body just before dark and boom. No trophy, but a good eater. Sad rack for a fully mature buck, good one to remove from breedi...

Re: Offering permit if pulled over

I got stopped for speeding on the way to Easter dinner this spring while carrying. I gave him my PTC at the same time as my license and had zero trouble. It was something I never really worried about as I know most the officers and deputies in my area and used to be involved with their training and ...

Re: Looking for Trapshooting club

I'd check out the Forrest Lake Sportsmen Club. They have heated trap, skeet and I think 5 stand in the winter. Really well run club by good people. I'm not a member, but have shot a lot of 3 gun matches there.
