Re: Flash Hole Uniformer?

It was kind of expensive to try this test, but it worked out for me. BMG dies are $253 a set minimum un-modified. Neck turning my cases to 0.0195 wall thickness = 0.0195X2=0.039+0.508=0.547-.002 for springback = 0.545 ID on neck of sizing die which one of my RCBS dies ran after slight honing. 0.508 ...

Re: Ruger SP101

How far is that from Oakdale?

I have gp100's.

My daughter loves them and is very good with them shooting +P+ 38 Special reloads.

Both are 6" heavy's.

1 Blued, 1 Stainless.

Re: coyote calls

I don't hunt at all anymore due to leg issues. But when hunting in Iowa, South Dakota, & Nebraska, I had my best luck at night. When I had my farm in Northern Wisconsin, I hunted during the day with a lamb tied to a post for bait. There was a fence circle all around lamb to protect it and confus...

Re: Flash Hole Uniformer?

The Lyman product will perform just fine, only without consistency, unless brass has been thoroughly prepped first. OK NOW to confess - Many of the processes performed to work your brass to Match Quality are hard to justify with concrete data. However, when you are on the Firing Line after paying yo...

Re: Flash Hole Uniformer?

I believe the proven process wins over speculation.

My 40 point process is for going from fired surplus to Match brass. It includes steps that would not be repeated on already processed brass. It also includes a double cleaning process and priming.

Re: Ahlmans Laser Engraving?

Check with Twin City EDM in Fridley.
They do laser engraving on a commercial scale, but have done some quick jobs for me at no cost.
It all on how you approach them .... something for "Da Wifey" .....

Re: Flash Hole Uniformer?

Hey All, I am starting to load for .308 Win and I plan to squeeze all the accuracy I can out of my loads and rifle. I saw Midway had a Lyman flash hole uniformer on sale, but before I buy one I just wanted to see if anyone uses one and if it makes a difference in accuracy, velocity, pressure, etc. ...

Re: coyote calls

Get your call, practice, practice. Work with your white camo, including on your rifle, sling or whatever else you take afield. White camo can be a painters suit and cap for you. White sheets can be sewn to make baggy covers for rifles and other equipment, just try to break up the visual. Coyotes can...

Re: Flash Hole Uniformer?

Go to Gunstop. Buy Laupua cases by the hundreds. Buy K&M Flash Hole Uniformer which reams all to consistent size and chamfers top side of flash hole. Buy K&M Primer Pocket Reamer to finish all pockets to same size and depth for consistent primer seating. Buy K&M Neck Turning Tool to achi...

Re: Remington Green box over pressure

I have one of those Herter's presses, love it for its strength. I use it to resize 50 BMG projectiles to the roundness and diameter I desire. Herter's also had U9 and J9 Model rifles made by Huskavarna (sp?) of Sweden. I had the J9 model in 243WIN with a 26 inch barrel. It was VERY accurate. After m...

Re: Remington Green box over pressure

Sam,
Sorry to say - several companies are buying the steel cased ammo from pre-Soviet countries and are re-labeling it now under their original names.
I don't like it - but business is business to the un-informed.
Herter's is one of the companies.

Re: Is intervention needed?

When you are speaking AR-10, are you speaking ArmaLite, or some other brand?

Just curious. I have several AR-10's - all ArmaLite, the original AR manufacturer.

Re: Is intervention needed?

[quote="LS3MiataGood point. I guess asking for intervention here would be like a crack head walking into a crack house and complaining he had too much crack :rotf:[/quote]

I've got too much crack, but it's due to the length of my belt.
