I would be that the new fancy-pants camera I have would be a big help in determining penetration in water jugs.....

Try to keep up. ;)

I've got some 125gr Double Tap Gold Dot .357, and some handloaded .357 with 125gr Montana Gold JHP, and some other random .38 & .357 including some Glaser rounds that would be interesting.

Sounds like time to hit up a recycling center for some jugs. 5-6 jugs on each bullet will add up really quick.

I'd be curious to see a 12ga slug and then buckshot and then birdshot. Even though I can pretty well predict where each would fall, in order of deepest penetration.

We should BBQ out there while we are doing this... Meat always goes good with shooting and warm weather.

Mitch already offered a chrono, I've got .45 230gr. Gold Dots and may be able to find a remington Golden Saber in the same caliber and weight.

Remember that while there is a ratio that works reasonably well to calculate flesh/gel penetration from a water penetration result, hollowpoints will expand much larger and much more uniformly in water than they would in gel or flesh.

I hear the humane society will give them to pretty much anyone........ Besodes, I have about 3 dozen strays in the neighborhood, and a live trap.

We're all set.

Depending on when this goes down I may be in, and might be able to reach into the FCC goodie bag (or seconds room as it were).

I see welcoming you into the circle of "range buddies" is long overdue, at least for my circle! ;)

If I was in your shoes, it'd be the same story. Very nice perk of the job I'm sure.
