My Man Cave

This is my small but very functional reloading man cave, it is only 5X10 feet but it works out just fine. I think that having a small area to work in helps me stay more organized... my garage is a mess!!

When we were just married and living in a two bedroom apartment, my reloading "room" was the front hall closet. It worked quite well.

I'm digging what I assume are your security measures. Steel flats over the panels on your solid core door, and arranged over the window? In setting up my own "Man Cave", that was one thing I was trying to plan for -- and short of buying a steel core door (big $$$), I like your idea!

Due to being in a 1BR condo, my Man Caves consist of a small corner of living room and the [fortunately detached/separate] garage.

What did you do for the bars on the window? Is that steel? How did you attach it to your house to make sure it withstood someone kicking it in / blowing apart the wood? I want to do this to my room but wondered if lag bolting it into the studs is good enough or even a good idea.

I used standard steel flat bar, I think it's 1.5 X .25 inch and attached it to my window jam studs using high strenghth 6 inch touques headed screws. Drill pilot holes at least 3 inches deep so that the studs won't split. It's not Fort Knox but it's better than nothing.
