Local source for fired brass?

Postby Hazmat on Sun Apr 13, 2008 7:19 pm

Any local sources for once fired brass? I'm just starting to wet my feet with reloading and am looking for .223 and .45acp.

OK I am going to stand up and get my in trouble again,

The best source for once fired brass is friends who save brass for you from their trips to the range. I think Jon at Gunstop is the only one around anymore who has any stock at all of once fired or used brass......

SO for those of you who do not reload, pick up your brass and pass it on to someone who can use it.

You may want to check with Roger at BPR. He has bags of the different calibers for sale on the front counter.

Unfortunately I don't have many shooting friends and those that I do have reload, so I'm on my own.

Depending on how local you are, I have about 100 .223 brass if you are interested, I'm sure that you could coax them from me for next to nothing (quite literally). PM if interested.

I would suggest that you start by search some forums like http://www.ar15.com/ for that type of brass. I had purchased some locally by finding someone that sold .40S&W brass. It was very good brass, looked like it was new.

Just my 2 cents.

I've been watching AR15s reloading section, I swear, to get anything you have to visit ever 5 minutes 24 hours a day, especially when its .223 brass.

PM sent on the brass.

I've been watching ar15.com for a while now, looking for a complete upper since DPMS closed up shop early at the State Far show. Never thought to look there for brass but that would make sense!

I have some .223 brass, which, combined with my pristine FCG, I would still be willing to trade for some good beer.

If you are on the north side of the cities, Wolf's Den in Hugo almost always has used 45 and 223.

Oakdale Gun Club sells brass, usually after the first of the year (notice was in the February newsletter). Cutoff for bidding was March 10. This year there was a minimum bid of $.03 per round. You do not have to be a member (or OGC) to bid on brass. I'd guess the dates would be similar for next year.

If anyone is interested, I can post details when they're available. (but someone will have to remind me)
