9mm ammo

Postby ScatterGun4015 on Tue May 15, 2012 10:20 am

Did manufacturers quite making 9mm? Haven't bought factory 9mm in a while and decided to swing into fleetfarm to pick some up so I can get new brass for my reloads. There was no 9mm, not even self defense. Plenty of 40 and 45, but no 9. Went to wallmart and it was the same story. Not a single box of 9mm. I will correct myself and say that ff had 2 boxes of steel cased wolf ammo, but that would defeat the purpose of the purchase. What gives? Do I have to wait till after the elections to buy? Maybe I should stock up on some reloading components......before those disappear

I am fairly sure you did the right thing. But you did ask at walmart for the 9mm? Every store I have been to had it locked up under a cabinet where you could not see it.

And what does that say about the kind of people shopping at Wal-Mart, and the potential for Wal-Mart 9mm ammo ending up in a "gangsta gat"?? After all, a Fo-tay is the size of a bottle of malt liquor, and Fo-Tay-Fyv is a BRAND of malt liquor, so those two calibers don't sell so well!!

Oh and to add to this thread. Unless you have gobs of money to piss away do not buy self defense ammo at a box store. Head over to Streicher's and pick up a box of federal LE Hydra shocks. I paid $20 for a box of 50 38 special last time I needed some. 45 was $35 for 50 I think. If you buy from a box store that would set you back $50-$75.

I bought a box(20) of hydra shocks at fleetfarm about 2 months ago for about 22bucks.....and it is 2 miles from my house. BUT no sign of 9mm now

My local walmart is outta 9mm, the semi-conscious sales associate said even their distribution center is out. This does not bode well for my foray into USPSA. Maybe its time for a group buy in factory 9mm?

Fleet Farm has Winchester 9mm 100 round white box on sale this week for $23.99. If sold out, ask for a raincheck.

I had the same problem but just picked up a box from Wal-mart this week in stillwater. Last time I was at Fleet Farm they were 25.99 for 100. Walmart was the cheapest at 23.99. I pick up about 100 rounds every two weeks. I only buy winchester white box, probably not the best ammo suited for my carry gun but I have yet to have a malfuntion.

SGAmmo sell out of their Aguilla cases for $200ish shipped (can't check from here)? My brother in law is working through a case and loves the stuff, was the cheapest out there about 2 months ago.

I picked up a 100ct box of WWB at Walmart in Stillwater last Thursday before the match at Oakdale. They had plenty in stock then.
