Primer Rationing

Went to my favorite gun shop today to buy primers and powder - I've been buying primers by the thousand for the last few weeks - today there is a sign limiting to 500. I wanted 5000 but the owner said he had no choice - he did sell me 1000 - his reasoning is to have enough so everyone he has coming for primers gets a few - he was also rationing 223 ammo as well. He said CCI told him not to expect primers any time soon.
