Try youtube. I have only been reloading a short time but You Tube has helped me much more than reading the books (I do read them) but seeing the process makes learning far easier for me. One other website (among many) that I refer to is ammosmith.com he has many videos that show step by step instructions in detail. The internet has limitless information available for us beginners.

The people on this bulletin board are a wealth of information and I am amazed at the skill levels they are willing to share with us.

As for getting equipment or components, I bought half of my stock pile from a couple people listing on Armslist.com and Craigslist. Just type in reloading on craig and look under ammo/reloading on armslist. Both are totally free. I bought brass, bullets, primers, a gun vice, dies, powder (4# Bullseye for $40 never opened and 1# Varget $10 also unopened) for half or less than it would have cost me retail. I got my Lee Classic Turret Press for $77.95 on ebay with free shipping and it is brand new.

Spend some time on you tube by searching for whatever type press you are considering as well as others, then decide which you believe will fit your needs best as well as your wallet. I would love to have a Dillon setup, but for what I needed the Lee Turret fit perfectly and I love it.

I load .30 Carbine, .38 spcl,.45 acp, 9 mm , 30/06 , 300 Win Mag and Russian Nagant 7.62 x 38R Pistol load. So far my Lee with the Factory Crimp Die has loaded over 700 mixed rounds in three weeks of loading. If you need info on where I go my best deals, feel free to pm me.

Want to learn 10mm?, give me a call, pick up some components and plan to spend a evening loading a few boxes.

I use a Dillon Square Deal B loader, great way to start with pistol cartridges.

Try it before you commit to purchase.

I just discovered that you can "borrow" this book for free on your kindle should you be an Amazon Prime member. Just an FYI.

That's one way to save a few bucks. I enjoyed it enough that I wanted a physical copy for my library (Book Shelf...lol)

I run all my 10mm brass thru the Carbide GRX push thru die. Do I have to, maybe not but I have plenty of time. I then run the brass thru the regular sizing die. I have found that different brands of dies vary as do barrels, so the best case gauge is the barrel of the gun you plan to use.

The Glock barrels are often "looser" than the EFK replacements that I use. OAL is critical as well.

I find that the 610-3 and 310 NG will accept virtually case variations in the 10mm, which is to be expected.

I just spent the better part of yesterday with OldmanFCSA taking him up on his offered tutelage and equipment use. I learned more in those few hours than in Reading The Fine Manuals for a couple weeks.

I'm a hands on and visual learner, reading gives me some details, but I have questions as I learn and can proceed better with answers as I need them. Doug (OldmanFCSA) is/was ready and able to answer all my questions right then and there, so the new concepts have context with what I know, and become knowledge rather than random facts. OK, more simply I just did a whopping lot of learning yesterday and now have ability to understand what the books are trying to tell me.

Maybe some of you do well with texts and theory and chalkboards without the practical hands on, maybe you learned bullseye skills just reading about them. I need to pull the trigger, smell the brass, feel the pressure used to seat a primer, weigh the powder etc in order to learn. Doug is uniquely set up and willing to help all the newcomers, and didn't get the slightest frustrated by my newbie questions that I'm sure he's heard scores of times. He genuinely is interested in helping sincere beginners. I cannot recommend him enough.

First, go work with OldmanFCSA.
Then, RTFM!

You didn't mention Murphy's Leading and Directing Skills. He kept an eye on me during my entire visit. I believe he does most of Oldman's "Heavy" work.

Murphy was a wonderful greeter! I'm afraid my encouragements weren't in line with his training and disciplines however...
