Power Pistol also works well on 50GI for +P loads.

John suggested Power Pistol to me a while back, though it may not allow me "gamer" loads for competition, it works well and in my 9mm I get 1000 rounds per pound of powder.

people have said that AA No5 is too fast, and power pistol is much faster than that. However people use it for 460R loads. How the hell does that work?

power pistol ain't necessarily "much" faster! ... more like jest a lotta powders in that range, and it happens to be listed first!

Actually, what the powder is originally used for is kind of a joke, and the ULTIMATE example these days is the ineptly and incorrectly named Lil' Gun. It was introduced supposedly as a .410 shotshell powder, and John-Boy says he gets about 1 person a year who actually buys it for that. It IS, however, the best BFG magum pistol powder around, and has supplanted H110 in the 454, the 460, and particularly the 500 S&W. Nothin' better, and gets you more velocity for the same max load than H110 ever could.
