Anyone having luck finding ammo?

Postby rcos on Thu Jun 27, 2013 1:13 pm

Over the last week I've been trying a bit harder to find some ammo (9mm) with no luck yet. I haven't really seen anything other than JHP on the shelves in any caliber. Anyone finding any? Is it worth it to keep hitting the shops or is it still rare enough that its unlikely to find any (esp. in the southern suburbs)?

I have a couple family members that want to shoot over the 4th and was looking to stock up a bit more. I dont want to blow through my whole (meager) reserve :)

Thanks!

Lots of Ammo at generally good prices. Some is remanufactued, but it works good as new.

Sometimes you just have to ask.

The day before Father's day I was at FF in Rochester and as (almost) always there was no 9mm on the shelf. So I asked the guy behind the counter and he says "We've got 3 or 4 cases in the back". I got my 10 box limit @ $14.95/box. Then went over to Walmart, nothing in the case. I talked to the guy in sporting goods and turns out someone tried breaking into their ammo case and F'd up the lock, so all pistol ammo is stored in back. They had no .22lr or 9mm (sold out the day before) but I got three boxes of .45 @ $21/box.

I picked up a 300 pack of remanufactured 9mm at Cabela's last Monday. I found a couple boxes of Winchester White Box at the Forest Lake Wal-Mart last week. Around Memorial Day I saw some 9mm Tula at the Pine City Wal-Mart. 9mm is showing up on occasion which is more often than one found them a few short months ago.

If your in the twin cities swing into sportsmanship guide they usually have one or the other, I haven't left there empty handed on any trip down there. FYI they don't list it online for what's in the shop

Don't purchase from freedom. They've really jacked up their prices in the last few months where it costs more than new 9mm at walmart...

The last 9mm I bought from them was $9.19 per box plus about a buck each for shipping.

I'll be heading out of town this weekend and be going past a few Fleet Farms and a few other stores. I'll gladly sell anything i find to someone that needs it at my cost. If there's anything any of you are looking for let me know and I'll keep an eye out.

Gander's new store in Rogers had many 9mm Blazer Brass 350 packs for $119 last weekend.

I’ve been having good luck finding ammo at Cabela’s online……..but you have to check their website several times a day………especially early A.M between 5:00-0630. Free shipping to the store works great for me because it’s only 10 minutes away. Plus, they will hold it for 20 days which gives me time to place multiple orders and reduce the number of trips needed to pick it up. BTW, shipping to your home or business is only 5 bucks if you use your Cabela’s Visa card.

I just got back from Cabelas in Owatanna. They had 9mm, 45acp and many, if not all, primers. Still no .22 in "staying on the shelves" quantity.
I got nothin'
