Do you look under 21? ;)

I have never been asked for ID for ammo. But I guess I don't look that young any more. :(
They do ask if you are over 21 when the register beeps at them to ask. But never a check of the ID.

Speaking of ID checking, I stopped at W*M in Buffalo on Friday and picked up some .45 ball, the cashier looked me square in the face and said "I'm not asking if this is for a handgun, it's none of their eff'ing business."

Heh, one of the first times I bought ammo at Wal-Mart was for my 10/22. I also had a small .22LR pocket pistol that I was shooting regularly at the time. Bought a biggy box of Remington and the clerk asked, "Is this for rifle or handgun?" I smiled and said, "Uhhh, both!" It was met with a confused look, but he didn't give me any trouble.

I'm 24, so not out of reason... Defiantly don't "look" 20 or under 6'5" 275 lbs, beard, Usually don't get carded at the Alc. Store...
