Since I wanted to have something to verify my calipers as well, I decided to give it a try.
Surprisingly - these $4 blades agree with my calipers to within +-0.0005"!
Or both of them are off

But lets be real, a hair off your head will measure .002/.003 anyways..
Best thing you can do is keep your tools clean. And be careful with the blades on your caliper, they do wear!
