Keep your eyes peeled and watch for sales when you can get things at a normal price.

I would like to know where you guys are finding ammo cheaper. My guess is that you are not and just want to gripe.

Walmart and Fleet Farm have had .40 and .45 on the shelf just about every time I stop in there...
.223/5.56 is starting to show up consistently at Walmart in some form or another - I passed a few cases of m855... 'Cause I ain't ready to spend 50 cents a round...

dronning wrote:I agree that Gander everyday pricing is high BUT while I don't shop there for things I need, I have bought 5 guns in there in the last 3 years that were fantastic deals. One such deal was a 8' Ruger 22/45 Hunter Target in stainless for $299 which was barely used I'm sure it was mismarked and should have been $399. Ammo well, I bought about 6K rounds of 5.56 in 50cal cans before the madness they were on sale for a $100 LESS than the going price. Then there was the big re-grand opening at the Lakeville store when they opened the Gander Academy, they put 525 round bulk packs of Federal on sale for $14.99 (19.99-$5.00 coupon and it was unlimited). I bought 42K rounds and they still had plenty left when the sale ended I wish I would have bought more because I gave far too many away as Christmas gifts.

Since WHEN after Dec. 14th has ANYBODY had that much .22LR available, much less at that price?? I smell a GM stooge here!!! Seriously, you buy 42,000 rounds of ammo and there's still lots left??

Yeah, and I'm George Clooney, and rich and famous, and I gotta beat all the hawt wimmin away from me with a stick!!

You might want to think that through. Whoever bought the gift card has already supported them. If you spend it, you are only causing Gander to fork over the merchandise that someone already paid for.

It's a free market. Gouger Mountain can charge what they want, and I'm free to not spend my money there.
Fleet Farm might not make as much per box of ammo, but when I'm buying this much ammo from FF any profit is better than the zero profit GM has made selling no ammo to me.
