Apple Valley wally world had 4 boxes of Federal left last night. I just got home from Lakeville and they had a good amount of federal and the Tula Brass Maxx. only a couple boxes of WWB. the Federal was under $15 and the WWB and Tula were under $14. Fleet Farm is a bust, I haven't seen anything other than 40, 45 and 380 at the Lakeville store and the BP store for months.

Freedom Munitions is absolute crap. For awhile there I was having fail to fire about every 20 rounds or so. Absolutely unacceptable. Between FM and LAX for cheap reloaded brass, I'd buy LAX. No question.

I always check the FF shelves just out of curiosity and the off chance I could snag some .22 all you ever find in the ammo Isle is 2-3 guys staring at empty shelves. Gander mountain always seems to have ammo lately, if you willing to pay their price. I have only picked up some sale priced .22 from them.

Based on the .22 prices you see on Armslist I was thinking about giving my brother a couple bricks and letting him try to trade round per round for some 9mm    .

I hear ya....but I am not sure my brother is on board. Whether you think it is a blessing or curse, he has more disposable income than time at this point in life. I have already floated the idea of splitting the cost of a progressive at some point, but I have made it clear that he will be responsible for loading his own ammo. I would be willing to teach or at least point in the right direction, beginning with the use of my single stage press and close supervision.

We will see where everything goes...I have already laid claim to his once fired brass so I will need to compensate him for that which will mitigate some cost.

Right now I am just excited we have a common interest, cause golf sucks ...or is it I suck at golf ;) .

Fair enough, and I share your opinion of golf, I think. (At least, I'm certainly unable to enjoy it. :P) Good luck with persuading your brother to get a progressive. Like I said, I'll forever be grateful to my FIL for teaching me and letting me use his single stage, but on some level, it's WAY more enjoyable to load 9mm on the progressive I eventually bought; even when you're trying to crank out even as little as 50-100 rounds, the single stage feels pretty tedious by comparison.

Regarding buying ammo at retail, Gander Mountain in Woodbury might be somewhere to try; I didn't pay a lot of attention to the 9mm prices this morning since I was there looking for .22LR (no joy), but they had whole tables of 350 pack blazer brass 9mm, so they probably have at least a vaguely reasonable selection.

Haha, given the scarcity of .22 these days, that might actually work.

Looking at the shelves at FF and walmart they always have plenty of .40/.45/.38spl/ even .380 ...but NEVER any 9mm. What gives? I know it's a popular caliber, but so are all the others, and they are always well stocked in everything BUT 9mm. My personal stash of 9mm can't last forever ya know...

Yeah, the FF near me has been the same way; they have just about everything but 9mm and .22LR.

Cabelas has Herters (backorderable) in 9mm for 13.99 box, $5.00 shipping, usually 2 week lead time. Always just order 1000rds then reorder when I get down to 500.
My XD, P89 and SR9C all like it.

Went to Cabelas in Rogers right before new years and there was probably a couple hundred boxes of Herters on the shelf. If you are in the area I would just check in the store.

I know that some people don’t like shooting reloads, but I have a few thousand 115gr FMJ for sale @ .26 per round and offer a .02 per case credit for brass. Money back guarantee too.

PM me if interested.
